iNet - explore your network!
Find out about security risks and keep your network under control. This easy to use App outlines a computer network even to the unexperienced user. Is somebody using your network without your knowledge? Which devices are currently online? Which access ports are open? Which services are offered? What is the IP of your router? Wake sleeping devices remotely. Add own icons to found devices ...

iNet provides you with information about networks and devices your Mac is connected to. Its very easy and user friendly design even allows the unexperienced user to get a profound and understandable overview of a network, the running services and the Wi-Fi quality.

In the current version the following functions are available:

• Network Scanner
• Bonjour Browser
• Portscan for standard ports
• Airport Monitor*
• Wake on Lan
• Help section

We did our best to develop a solution that makes network observing as simple as possible. Wether you are a network expert or a common user - iNet provides the information you need to find out what's going on in your network.

Network Scanner:

• See all devices that are online and connected to a network, along with vendor, IP and MAC addresses
• Assign your own names and icons or choose from the provided icons for easier identifying a device in the scan list. Most Mac devices are displayed with their original icon.
• Set scan range and interface to scan
• Export scan results in csv format
• Connect to devices via different protocols

Bonjour Monitor:

• Detect all running Bonjour services realtime
• Detect running services on a discrete device
• Detailed information about a service
• Choose the active Bonjour domain for observing

*Airport Monitor:

* • Attention for users of the latest 2013 Airport edition with 802.11ac: Because SNMP support has been disabled iNet cannot retrieve the usage statistics and wifi strength any more with these models. All other features of iNet are working properly. The following Airport monitoring features can only be used with models prior to the 802.11ac:
• See the current condition of Apple Airport base stations like Airport express or Time Capsule
• Monitor network traffic on Airport devices
• Find detailed information about your Airport base stations like MAC address, IP's, used channels and so on
• See the connection quality of the connected wifi clients in realtime

Wake on Lan:

• Wake devices remotely in your local network or via internet
• Put devices remotely to sleep, shutdown or restart (Macintosh only)
• Add devices to favorites
• Send commands via ssh to devices
• Minimal system required for WOL: OS X 10.7

• Extensive help section
• Dictionary of used terms

We will add modules in the future like traceroute and more. iNet is also available for iPhone and for iPad.

Huge help in managing a LAN, seeing what all those devices are, etc.

This is reliable and very useful. I have ben using it and the iOS verson for years.

It is great to be able to print a list to PDF of the devices on the LAN.

I do wish they would add the ability to include in the printout the devices that are greyed out because they were recently on, but are not on now.

Needs a few tweaks but is otherwise pretty good

The net master

It's a great versatile tool to have in my kit of networking tools. But I found a lack of a port scanner to be detrimental in order for me to work efficiently. Yes I do have other port scanners and other programs to counteract this form the lack of this port scanner. But I do have to say the command line was actually quite surprised considering I have not found an nice was designed interface but has a few bugs with executing.P.S. both firewalls on both computers were off along with no password was on the computered that was trying to be controlled. Apparently ports 20 and 21 was too great to handle. To quickly sum up it's a very nice pretty powerful piece of software-- but it severely lacks critical tools such as a port scanner compared to Inet for the iphone. Also just saying being on your are Iphone at work why your bosses around and looking like your playing on it kind gets you in a bit trouble either though I'm trying to do my job. so would be so kind as to add a port scanner or something that allows people to be at the test of a port is open or closed. The one major reason why i did not rate this program to be five stars is because of its few bugs and its lack of a port scanner, or to be more direct in straightforward of a obvious port scanner that they are to be manually engage and directed towards a specific targeted device.

Nice features, small room for improvement

I just moved from a Ubiquiti Unifi Access Point to an Apple Time Capsule. I was really missing the ability to view the wireless client list, and assign custom names to the clients that I had with the Unifi, so I was looking for an app that gave me similar functionality on the Mac. Found several references to this app online, so thought I’d try it out. For $10, it’s not a bad app. Allows me to do exactly what I wanted, which was to view all connected clients and give them custom names. The icon set is nice as well, however the ability to add custom icons would be really nice. Things such as Belkin light switches and Nest thermostats really have no corresponding icons in the provided icon sets.

Also, I was really disappointed to find out that some of the features of this particular app do NOT work with newer Time Capsule models. I was looking forward to, based on the provided screenshots, the ability to view network traffic graphs and signal strength of connected devices. There is a small blurb in the description stating which models are supported which I did not see at first glance. Screenshots say “Supports most Apple Routers”, so I assumed the newest ones would work fine. Other than these minor issues, the app still does what I wanted.
