Network quality and performance is vital to the success of any application that needs connectivity. A poor quality connection will provide a poor user experience and cause problems whether conducting important online banking transactions or playing a game on your iPhone or iPod Touch.
iNetQCheck is an application designed specifically to measure data flow quality and throughput speed of an Internet connection and not just provide a simple speed reading as most speed test applications do. Simple speed measurements in a glossy format may only provide hints that a problem exists, they do not help a user identify and resolve connection problems when they occur.
By accurately measuring the quality and speed of the data flow, iNetQCheck Pro is able to quickly identify and show in-depth problems that affect how applications run on the iPhone or iPod Touch. Such problems include packet loss, extended TCP delays, regulation events and duplicate packets.
NetQCheck(tm), the underlying technology used by iNetQCheck Pro, is a well proven technology that is deployed in large enterprise network management applications using MyConnection Server by Visualware Inc.

Terrific for debugging ISP issues
The developer does not really tell you what you get by purchasing this app relative to the free version.
From what i can tell you get the ability to store testing data and more information on QoS, which stands for quality of service.
My sense is that with streaming and VoIP consistency of service is far more important than just raw speed as measured by some of the simple Internet speed tests.
In my neighborhood it is not at all clear that Comcast at 20 Mbps with inconsistent speed as measured effectively by this app is better than Qwest CenturyLink at 7 Mbps. This problem is exactly what this app is helping me to debug.
Paying a few dollars for this app to see how Comcast service really is, including keeping the data available from previous tests, is going to help me figure out why my VoIP phone seems to cut out and why my video streaming seems to degrade to very low quality.
I like this app. It seems to provide data on ISP performance available nowhere else.
The Pro version certainly isn't worth $4.99. The free version provides similar data. Given the cost, the Pro version UI needs a lot of work...
