Promotional check "This service is not enabled on your card."
A week ago I got a promotional check in the mail for $5. Well, that's cool. Though, seeing as how I JUST got this check and it expires "a month from date of issue" which... is a day after when I received it. Not cool. So, I go ahead and try to load it cause it will expire tomorrow apparently, and after much trouble I finally get it to accept it. "We're sorry we were not able to load this check on your card, as the service is not enabled on your [Company Name] Prepaid Card. Please call [Company Name] Card Services for assistance." Right, so this app being promoted by my card company doesn't work... so I called them and it's been a week and I've gotten no reply back from the escalation department. Thing is, even if this app worked, the fee is $5. The fee to load my card with cash is $3. So, why would I pay $2 more to load my card (nevermind it doesn't work) directly from my check when I can just as easily go to the bank that issued the check, cash it for free, and then load my card with cash? Sure, I can avoid the fee if I am willing to wait 10 freaking days to get my money, but really who can afford to do that?
OK... But still some issues.
I've used this app on and off for about 3 years with no problems. I've been able to cash multiple checks in a matter of minutes. But today when I tried to scan my check, everything was going fine until I they wanted a picture of the voided check. I voided the check (in pen) and waited. They cancelled my transaction and their excuse was that it was too light. So I made sure it was dark, even shading it in and rescanned it. Declined again!!!! I call customer service and pretty much got accused of writing "VOID" in pencil and planning to go somewhere else to cash the check after they deposit the cash. Not very happy with customer service and their accusatory tone. I'm hoping this is just an isolated incident.
I had an issue trying to deposit too many checks, ended up scanning the wrong voided check in. They locked my account due to "fraud". When I called customer support as directed, the lady told me my account is closed and I can not do anything about it. I can no longer use this app ever again. She was horrible and completely indifferent to my situation. She had no intention to help and just wanted me off the phone. I'm a customer service manager, if any of my people talk to a client that way that would be their LAST call with my company.
