Instagram is a simple way to capture and share the world’s moments. Follow your friends and family to see what they’re up to, and discover accounts from all over the world that are sharing things you love. Join the community of over 500 million people and express yourself by sharing all the moments of your day––the highlights and everything in between, too.

Use Instagram to:
• Post photos and videos you want to keep on your profile grid. Edit them with filters and creative tools, and combine multiple clips into one video.
• Share multiple photos and videos (as many as you want!) to your story. Bring them to life with text and drawing tools. They disappear after 24 hours and won't appear on your profile grid or in feed.
• Watch stories from the people you follow in a bar at the top of your feed. View them at your own pace.
• Discover photos and videos you might like and follow new accounts in the Explore tab.
• Send private messages, photos, videos and posts from your feed directly to friends with Instagram Direct.
• Instantly share your posts to Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and other social networks.
• Use Handoff to switch between your Apple Watch and your iPhone.

I don't want to be forced to see the same people

I'm not always on Instagram, but I really really don't want Instagram to try to decide what or who I would like to see and in what order to see them. As a matter of fact, some of the most popular post are my least favorite but Instagram is shoving them in my face because they think that's what I want to see. They ASSUME that I want to see what is the most popular pictures amongst other followers. However, I like to see new artists and creations. As Instagram is made for the creatives until Facebook bought it out and turned it into a Twitter feed. I liked Instagram in its simplicity. Now, it's turning into another monopolized company who is forcing me to view things in an order that would benefit "bigger, better, more popular" people/pages. It turned from a love, to a hate relationship with this app. I miss a lot of my friends pictures and videos now, all in exchange for ads and a flood of posts from accounts I follow that I'm not THAT concerned with. And the MAPS, bring back the maps, this was one of my favorite features and it was a big reason for me tagging locations in my pictures at all. Not everyone was using it so they took it out. Why even remove it? What's the harm in it being there? I'd pay $.99 for that feature to be added back. I used it for my own travel diary and to show my friends my travels. It encouraged me to go more places. I wish Instagram would allow its users to decide on changes BEFORE they happen.

My hatred for Instagram is unfathomable

When this app first came out it was great. I started my most popular account, bees420, (im currently bees421) a little over one year ago. When I started it, I made it a joke, however throughout the life of that account, as I gained more followers, I started taking it seriously. I could communicate with people around the world that I had never met. I made friends with people from many different countries, and bonded with thousands of people. A few days ago, I reached 17,000 followers, the most I have ever gotten on any account. Later that day, when I went to post a picture, I received an error that I had been logged out. When I tried to log back in, I received the message that I had been disabled for being against the community guidelines. I wanted to know specifically what I did wrong, and learned that I was apparently "glorifying self harm", which is completely false. I made a new account to try to get my followers back, and through the help of my friends I gained about 600 followers, but the other 16,400 people have no idea where I went. When I saw what had happened I was shaking for 20 minutes, and I wanted to die. Instagram deleted my successful account for no reason, and later I learned that they were deleting other accounts unfairly as well. Instagram has been corrupted and is no longer a good app.

Going downhill

Instagram used to be a great, simple app, but unfortunately it has taken a turn for the worse for each update. Many useless features have been added to screw up your feed. It used to be in a chronological order, however now it is organized by popularity, meaning that the feed is now a cluttered mess. Ads are more frequent than ever now as well. View are now shown instead of likes for videos. Great, now I get to see how many people are ghost followers and DON'T care to like my posts. Thanks Insta. I also fail to see why it shows 2 people you follow who liked a certain post- great, I don't care what they like, it just makes the like-counter even more messy. And finally, the stupid "Instagram Stories" feature. We have snapchat for a reason.

In conclusion, Instagram is quickly becoming a poorly designed app. Initially it was great, but now it will be very hard to start an account when the popular accounts get even more likes than before, and the less popular ones get even less now.

If anyone from the Instagram team is reading this, PLEASE, make all of the features optional, and have a way to remove them. Because until you stop forcing new styles on your users, this app doesn't deserve more than one star.
