GIVE US BACK OUR OLD TIMELINE
I don't even bother using my Instagram anymore, as sad to say as it is this was at one point my most favorite app but now I'm close to deleting it. I equally enjoy ALL my people I am followings content, that's why I am FOLLOWING them. So for Instagram to go and put other people before others and have me missing out on specific people's posts and making me scroll down forever just to see a post that was posted 5 minutes ago, but on my way I am having to scroll past posts that were uploaded 6 hours ago (just to reach one that was posted a few mins ago) [cause Instagram thinks I will find that more important or more enjoyable] is extremely frustrating. I feel like I'm constantly missing out on people's I like posts. And no I don't want to subscribe to EVERYONE just so I don't miss their post. Like I said I enjoy everyone's post mutually. And not having this chronological anymore is very upsetting, when it was chronological I could simply keep scrolling and see all the new posts until I reach the old ones I already seen. With this new way I am scrolling past the same posts k have already seen just to reach new posts, just because Instagram thinks I enjoy these peoples profile less for some reason. If you wanna implement this fine, but please have the option to turn it off. This is the worst update of a social media app I've ever witnessed. Extremely disappointed. And you've lost a long time supporter.
I used to love Instagram, but ever since the update, I'm starting to hate it. Ever since I've updated, I've been facing so many problems.
For example, Instagram always glitches and doesn't show all of my DMs. It's really annoying. Not only that, but it disables certain features for no reason. I was just trying to edit my caption and then it randomly disables my ability to edit captions because I was using the feature "too fast". I get that you're trying to keep the community safe but there's literally no reason to ban someone from editing their caption or bio completely just because they edited it a few times. It makes no sense and I doubt it'll make the community any safer.
Lastly, I really don't like how the posts aren't in chronological order. I don't get why it was changed but smaller accounts won't get a chance to grow! I'd really like it if the posts were switched back to chronological order.
Edit: This app has gotten worse! I've recently created a new account, but as soon as I try to like a post, it won't let me and tells me that it restricts certain content. I'm not getting it because how have I broken any rules and I just made a new account? This has been going on for days! I tried reporting a problem, but that doesn't even work. It's like with every update, this app gets worse and worse.
My hatred for Instagram is unfathomable
When this app first came out it was great. I started my most popular account, bees420, a little over one year ago. When I started it, I made it a joke, however throughout the life of that account, as I gained more followers, I started taking it seriously. I could communicate with people around the world that I had never met. I made friends with people from many different countries, and bonded with thousands of people. A few days ago, I reached 17,000 followers, the most I have ever gotten on any account. Later that day, when I went to post a picture, I received an error that I had been logged out. When I tried to log back in, I received the message that I had been disabled for being against the community guidelines. I wanted to know specifically what I did wrong, and learned that I was apparently "glorifying self harm", which is completely false. I made a new account to try to get my followers back, and through the help of my friends I gained about 600 followers, but the other 16,400 people have no idea where I went. When I saw what had happened I was shaking for 20 minutes, and I wanted to die. Instagram deleted my successful account for no reason, and later I learned that they were deleting other accounts unfairly as well. Instagram has been corrupted and is no longer a good app.
