Loved but now not so much
I have been using Instagram for many years now as my only form of social media and have been very happy with it up until recently. Changing the posts from chronological order has been annoying and I feel that I miss a lot of post that I would have liked due to it but that is not my biggest complaint. The amount of requests I get to follow pornographic accounts is astounding. I used to receive one every once in a while and I would report it as such thinking I was doing my part to help the Instagram community but now I'm receiving anywhere from 5-10 a day. Absolutely ridiculous and somehow they get their request to show up multiple times in my phone notifications (it will list the same request 4 times in my notifications.) I use Instagram to keep in touch with family and friends as well as for video tutorials but I have to tell you I am getting very turned off due to this. To look at my phone every morning and see I have 5 requests to follow all pornographic websites is frustrating and a huge problem that Instagram needs to work on fixing. They need to find a better way to weed out these types of accounts because they don't belong on this type of app. I feel like everything that was once good eventually spoils and Instagram is starting to turn.
My hatred for Instagram is unfathomable
When this app first came out it was great. I started my most popular account, bees420, a little over one year ago. When I started it, I made it a joke, however throughout the life of that account, as I gained more followers, I started taking it seriously. I could communicate with people around the world that I had never met. I made friends with people from many different countries, and bonded with thousands of people. A few days ago, I reached 17,000 followers, the most I have ever gotten on any account. Later that day, when I went to post a picture, I received an error that I had been logged out. When I tried to log back in, I received the message that I had been disabled for being against the community guidelines. I wanted to know specifically what I did wrong, and learned that I was apparently "glorifying self harm", which is completely false. I made a new account to try to get my followers back, and through the help of my friends I gained about 600 followers, but the other 16,400 people have no idea where I went. When I saw what had happened I was shaking for 20 minutes, and I wanted to die. Instagram deleted my successful account for no reason, and later I learned that they were deleting other accounts unfairly as well. Instagram has been corrupted and is no longer a good app.
Starting to really hate this app...
When this app first came out, it was my most used app, and it still is. However, it is not my most liked app anymore. I don't understand why they are making the app more like Facebook, which, by the way, is now used mostly by famous people and people 30+, in my opinion. The old cliché is right: If it ain't broke don't fix it. Also, Idk why they started to make the app more for fame and not fun and/or enjoyable. They started to title people's accounts by how many followers they have. Ex: Sports team, company, etc. Imo it's not useful, especially to the people who are like me, and not celebrities. Overall, this app used to be good, but they decided to change it, thus ruining the app and how people interact with each other. There's another thing about this app that I don't mind but it's not something I enjoy: the posts are not in chronological order anymore. I'm a huge sports fan, mostly football, but also other sports too. If a team plays a game that I watched already, I don't need to see who won three days later on the top of my feed. It just doesn't make sense. So please fix it, and I'll give you five stars.
