Customer Reviews

Almost there..

I like this simple RSS reader as it lists all of my feeds from Feedly with the number of unread items indicated. The problem is that there is no keyboard interaction so there is no way of marking as read other than by clicking on each specific item, which opens the item in the browser (I have more than 500 news items all the time). What is the point then? An RSS feed is supposed to let you see and mark items as you please. If I have to click on every item to mark it as read, then I rather go to the actual webpage and read the news! There is a “Mark All Read” choice in the menu, but that is not very usefull either. Easy solution: At least include the “Mark All Read” choice within each category (e.g. Sports, Books, Tech, etc). That will at least allow one to look at a specific feed and mark all items once done. Ideally, items would be marked as read by hovering over them or by allowing the use of the keyboard (e.g. arrow up and down to mark things as read). Anyway, this RSS feed has potential but it may no stay in my Mac for very long as it is..

Useless

This app does not work.

You need to create a “Feedly” account to get this app to sync across your devices. (No problem. Feedly appears to actually work.) The problem is- RSS Notifier does not sync with Feedly. I have been trouble-shooting this thing for the past 2 days! (I have sent 2 messages to RSS Notifier Support in addition to using the extremely minimal help section found on their support page, among other things.)

At start up I entered my favorite feeds manually. A couple of the feeds worked right away, so I assumed the other feeds simply lacked new content. I checked again today, but all of my feeds have been suspiciously “silent”. (These include CNN and Al Jazeera, so it’s not a stretch to believe 2 days without news is odd.) Next, I went to the Feedly account page on the web and chose all the same feeds I had manually added to RSS Notifier the first day, hoping to force the Notifier and Feedly to sync. Still nothing. I’ve quit and restarted the application repeatedly. Still nothing.

This is ludicrous and though the app is free…I would NOT recommend using it as the current version does nothing. The worst of it is I had immediately made an in-app purchase to have a feed that wasn’t simply unorganized text, so I blew some money. Big stinkoid!

Amazing!!

I only tried 2 other rss apps like this, but this has the best user experience ever!! I would recommend this to everyone that wants easy customazation and beatiful rss feeds. When you click on a link, it opens in a small window (Not Safari, YAH!!). It also clears all the junk and keeps only the text, but also organzies and arranges the text very beautiful. Best app for RSS Notications by far! Keep uo the good work Developers!
