Interfaith Care for the Ill

By Templeton Press

This app is only available on the App Store for iOS devices.

Few experiences in life are more difficult than finding the right words to comfort someone who is ill or dying. Matters can become even more complicated if the afflicted person is of a different religious background than your own.

To help health care professionals, chaplains, and anyone else who must face these kinds of situations head-on, we offer the Interfaith Care for the Ill app.

The ICI app is a beautiful and easy-to-navigate reference guide that puts key information on the five major world religions (Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, and Judaism) at your fingertips.

Users will find:
-Brief introductions to the five major religions and their histories
-Overviews of their central beliefs
-Lists of key practices and rituals for dealing with sickness or death, along with suggested modifications that may be necessary in modern medical facilities
-Prayers of comfort for the afflicted along with prayers to share with loved ones in times of grief

With just a few swipes of your finger, the ICI app will help you offer critical spiritual comfort with grace and confidence to anyone in their time of need.

Overpriced for what you get

With the Templeton name I expected a detailed, thoughtful overview, not only of the main world religions, but of less well-known religions, as well, along with denominations and sects within them. Instead, I got a "religion 101" app that at best generalizes Christianity, Buddhism, Judaism, Hinduism, and Islam to the extent that it's useless, and at worst presents misleading and inaccurate information. As a Presbyterian minister and hospital chaplain in an academic medical center, I'd hoped this would be a handy reference that would enable me to provide better spiritual care to patients, families, and staff, but there's not enough substantive content here to fulfill that hope. Save your money and Google your spiritual questions instead. I regret having paid for this app. Would give it zero stars if I could.

Interfaith Care for the Ill

Seriously??? As a busy Pastor I really expected this app to have way more prayers and resources than it does! I thought it would be a good mobile resource for on the go ministry and spiritual care, boy was I wrong!! This app was brought to my attention via Templeton Press, so now they are going to hear also about what a joke this app truly is!

I wish I had read the description more carefully... Only a brief touch on "the world's five major religions". What about Hinduism, Latter Day Saints, etc. ? With the Templeton name I expected more. Wish I hadn't paid the 4.99, the most I've ever paid for an app. Hope the add more to the app.
