“What this application does is present you with an amazingly simple-to-use interface that shows categories of recycling, first of all. This app is so easy to use and so helpful when we want to recycle our wares that it’s almost amazing that it’s free. Thanks to Earth911 though, it certainly is free, and it’s certainly worth a download – grab it!” - Chris Burns, SlashGear

“iRecycle is sure to be your new go-to consultant for recycling locations and tips.”
- App of the Month,

“The iRecycle app provides a great resource for customers who are looking for up-to-date information about recycling and sustainability.”
- Ralph Reid, vice president of corporate responsibility for Sprint.

“Earth911 makes their fabulous recycling search feature into an iPhone app with some convenient features.”
- Mother Nature News

“Even when you think you're eco-savvy, sometimes you still find yourself asking, "Can I recycle this? If so...who takes it?" Kinda cool your phone can now answer that for you.”

What's New in Version 2.5.8

Well it’s been a while. You probably thought you’d never see an update for iRecycle again but guess what? It’s finally here!

So what did we change? Well pretty much everything.

· We’ve revamped our design to catch up with the times.

· Added an article section so you can get all your recycling and green living questions answered.

· And despite our strong belief in the 3 R’s (A.K.A. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) we’ve sent a few bugs to the trash.

Landscape vs portrait view

Haven't used this app enough to rate it yet, but had to comment on a typical behavior I'm growing weary of! As soon as I opened it up, it automatically displayed in portrait mode, despite my iPad being locked in landscape mode! This indicates basically that the app writers care mostly about iPhone users and only secondarily about iPad users! A word of advice to you Millennials who wrote this; while you may have just managed recently to slightly outnumber us Boomers, we still have and spend more money than you do, and we mostly prefer our tablets to our smartphones for anything of real importance; so wake up to this and it may result in greater revenues to your employers which is kinda what it's all about here in America, isn't it?

Reinstalling helped

Update: I deleted and reinstalled the app and this seems to have helped as I now get relevant search results. Still testing the full capabilities of the app...

Unfortunately this new version of the app does not work. I searched for various types of common recyclables (aluminum cans, glass, paper, etc.) and it failed to give any results. The prior version returned results quickly and accurately. Please repair.

SO helpful!!!

Update - found the search function. LOVE this app especially during spring cleaning. I like to be able to search for the item instead of choosing the category.
