Update: So disappointed but what to expect from a big box store... A Santa Tracker??? Who comes up with these ideas? And Christmas was a week ago and it still comes up in the app... how about spending the time to improve your product? I was half way adding components in my house and just stopped when they changed the system and wanted to extract which is essentially a monthly service fee. What do I do, start all over?
Not sure what the thinking was in the design of the new app. It's hard to tell what devices are on at a glance. The app is just not that user friendly. Button also highlighted what's off, not on, I just think that's odd. There is no access to basic simple rules unless you pay monthly fee that I can see... door chime when door for is open, lights turn on when alarm is triggered, using Night, Home and Away modes... this now requires a monthly fee. No issue on the migration. The old system was usable and met basic requirements. But at this point, since I will be required to pay for a monthly fee for what was their basic (free) service.
Do waste your money on this buggy, unreliable junk
I've used the first generation for almost two years and it worked great. I switched to the 2nd generation hub and app and am not impressed.
1. Range is much less than old hub. Devices keep getting disconnected at random.
2. Hub seems to be susceptible to EMI (interference from other devices). In my case performance improved significantly when I moved it 10 feet away from my cable modem and router. My old hub did not have this issue.
3. The app is very buggy. It barely works!
4. No website access for system!
5. When pairing devices they must be within 10ft of the hub.
6. My door locks barely work. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't.
In summary, this product was marketed as an upgrade with new features and expandability but has been a major disappointment as it has less capabilities, less features, less range and is less reliable. How does that qualify as an upgrade?
Nothing but BIG DISAPPOINTMENT
Wow Iris/Lowes ..all of these ONE Star ratings and you still don't fix this crappy system! Consistently goes OFF LINE! I've only invested in frustrations. I would NOT recommend the Iris to Anyone...not even my worst enemy! Thanks Iris for wasting my time and money..how about doing one thing right and offering all buyers a complete refund!! Amazes me that so so many people are just like me who feel nothing but screwed and yes like the last reviewer wrote you spend time and resources into of all things Santa Claus while leaving loyal customers without reliable services???
