Description

iScan allows you to use the Linea Pro scanner to scan barcodes into a web form.

You can also use the camera to scan barcodes if you don't have a Linea Pro scanner.

It can be used for checking inventory, quickly entering data, or anything else you can develop a web backend for.

Disappointing

It doesn't do anything without buying an iPhone scanner add-on device for $49 from another company. This is no more then a PHP web site form to test the scanner :(

Some people need to learn to read

The description for this app explicitly states that it is for use with the linea pro scanner hardware device. Why write a bad review if you don't own said device that this app is intended to be used with? As far as functionality, it does what it says it can. I have a linea pro and this serves it's intended purpose well. As soon as I scan a barcode, it is entered into the form and submitted. While attempting to integrate this into my web app, I found that the form does not even need to be visible on the page and it will still work. You can set the CSS display property to none for the HTML form to accomplish this. Two downsides I see: first, this app is not able to call a JavaScript function on the page like iCody can. Second, it does not render certain CSS styles properly. Safari does and so does iCody. Unfortunately iCody does not work properly with my older linea pro. This app does work. But it does not render my web app properly.

as a proof of concept, it

I scan and text is entered in a web form. Now I know that what I want to do is possible, I just need to figure out how to accomplish it!
