ISS Spotter makes it easy for you to spot the International Space Station (ISS). You can see the forecast of visible passes and set alarms to be on time to view the ISS. The built in compass and tools will allow you to spot the ISS easily.
This app requires an Iphone 4S or better and iOS7+. Works on iPhone and iPad (full screen)
What's New in Version 1.5.1
- Fix for notification permissions (alarms were not always working in iOS8)
Lots of features- wow!
This is a great app! I tried desktop apps and they were really good but this is the only mobile one that's very good. I have used it over a year, and keep learning new features. I like the map; it updates in real time to show you where the space station is.
My favorite feature is the forecast. It lets you see out a few days to pick a good time to try to see the station. Weather is the big factor.
I used it several times over six months before I figured out it has a built in compass that actually points at the ISS in real time as it moves across the sky. It is super easy to use, but has some depth if you want to go exploring it. I just found that information/fun fact section and that is fascinating information. That prompted me to do a review. I highly recommend it.
The app is great. The app gives notifications of when the International Space Station will go over the location that you set. You can set the notification alarms. You can also see the current location of the International Space Station any time. The only downsides are, to see the possible times that the Space Station will go over you have to have Internet. The other downside is that unlike a website this does not show a radius around the Space Station where it is currently visible. Over all it is a great app.
I love the night sky. The first time I saw the ISS was during a sky tour about 15 years ago & I'm still thrilled when I see it. When I can coerce friends to see it with me, their attitude changes to delight and the first reaction is always "wow it's moving so fast!" This App is a real treat to those of us who love the sky but lack the stuff to be able to observe it; it never gets old watching it pass over. Thanks for being smart enough to know how to make this App for people like me who otherwise would just look up and wonder where things are.
