New school year is here, and we are nurturing new ideas and thinking on new horizons ;)
And so far, here is what’s new and great for you right with this update:
• We changed the way class icons look;
• The overall look of the app was refreshed again (yes, we love doing that from time to time);
• A little bit of magic for you: change a class to an exam with one button;
• The app will now remember if your preference is to see Calendar minified on iPhone;
• Haptic feedback for some actions, namely when you pull down to reveal past classes or completed assignments in Today, as well as when you choose to minify Calendar (all referred to the app performance on iPhone)
Wishing you great start of your academic year, may all go well for you guys. iStudiez Team is always here and open for all questions and comments and suggestions.
Ratings and Reviews
Nice but needs a few more things
Needs the ability to schedule assignments and other activities into specific time slots. Every class has assignments (tasks). It would be great to be able to have set categories and to create custom tasks - read textbook, problem workbook, lab, research, paper, quiz, mid-term, final, etc. and then be able to drag or otherwise schedule them into available time slots on the calendar. Also be able to create other specific tasks and schedule them in - football practice, frat party, or whatever and drop it into a time slot. I plan my week every Sunday night. If I have 30 pages to read, I want to be able to schedule it in between my two classes on Monday 10:00-12:00. I know when it is due. I want to plan when I do it. Ability to flip pages with a swipe or a tap would be nice. Classes may be different times on different days. Need to be able to change class times for each day independently.
I raised the rating to 5 stars because of all of the crash fixes. Now the app works very smoothly! I will definitely buy the full version very soon. Overall, the best in its category for sure. If it's not too much to ask, though, I do have some feature requests: a target grade for classes, more features for class notes (pictures, drawings, charts, etc.), and maybe even some BIG things like being able to flip through all my notes for classes, automatically creating a topic index, and other awesome stuff like that. AMAZING app, all I'm trying to say is that there are a lot of possibilities now that this is a stable, popular, and well-grounded app. P.S. I love being able to edit iOS calendar events! [that was too much too ask, wasn't it?] :)
Not For Middle-Schoolers
If I were a college student, I'm sure this would help a lot more. I like the "Today" feature that shows you what classes you've got that day, but that only does so much for me, because my schedule is fairly simple. The app's planner has courses that you can set up, and there are classes within the courses. This is my main problem with iStudiez Lite, because since it is Lite, and only allows you to set up three courses, I had to separate my classes into "Core Classes" (Algebra, Science, Social Studies, etc.) and "Enrichment" (Spanish, Music, etc.). This does not help me much because when I put in assignments, my Science lab report can show up under my Language Arts heading.
In short, this is best for college, when you have things like lectures and practicals. Definitely not as useful as I'd like it to be for a middle schooler.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
