The Udu is an African drum from Nigeria. Made from clay, it is much like a water jug with a hole in it, having in fact no membrane (like most drums possess). Its sound resembles an Indian tabla, compressing air in the bottom chamber and forcing it outward through the neck. It is played by either tapping the sides or neck with the fingertips, or stopping the top or side holes with the palms. Now available on your mobile device, enjoy the iUdu wherever you go! Headphones or a stereo system will maximize the sound quality and the user experience (highly recommended).

I love the sound of an udu drum. Water drop sounds in rhythm! I've been waiting for one of these. However, I wish that I could play 16th notes above 135bpm like most udu drum rhythms. Also, a hand brushing sample, closed palm hit on the holes and finger ruff would be great. Some of my other handdrum apps have a record option too. This is a good start though. I wouldn't say that it's quite worth $0.99 yet in comparison to many other apps.
The app has a lot of potential. However, the sounds need improvement. I have and play real udu. The range of sounds on the app could use upgrading to better match the beautiful sound the real thing makes.
Great little udu app
This one is a lot of fun and a bit addictive.
