Where is my programs?
I have only had Iv basic on my iPad for a very short time and after learning the peculiarities of the program started to use it and write some short, calculator type programs which were both attractive and useful. Also is a good way to kill some time and sharpen your programming skills.
All in all started to enjoy iv basic. One thing iv basic is not very strong in math area, and no documentation on number precision. Maybe I just couldn't find documentation on precision. For the price Iv basic is well worth the fun you can have with it.
My problem started when I downloaded this new version. Simply stated all the programs I wrote vanished with the new version. Which brings up another problem of not being able to save your work outside of Iv basic. Because all is not in one big source file I cannot cut and paste one time in email, or ship to Dropbox. This makes the program unacceptable for use, as you can never download updates without fear of loosing all work. I hope synching iPad thru iTunes is not the answer. I don't know if that would work either. With other applications I can download new versions and still have my files.
I wrote up a bug report and sent off last week, but no reply. I therefore cannot recommend. I use a couple of the other basic programs (do not go with the visual basic for iPad app) where I copy and paste my code in an email, Pages, and ship to Dropbox. But, I did get some pleasure with the small amount I invested.
Solve the problem of keeping programs written in earlier versions and put a little meat in the math area and you can have a winner.
