Must have

The original app was one of my most used apps ever. It was so good I couldn't even workout anymore without using it.

The new one has a lot of features that were desired and they really nail it. To be honest they should have updated the original and not charged, but honestly I consider this app better and more motivating than something like p90x which costs hundreds, so I don't consider 6 bucks all that big of a deal.

My pro tip to get ripped and have an inspiring and awesome workout:

Memorize the Spartacus workout featured in men's health. (google it).

Set up the workout in the app exactly as the article suggests. Pick awesome gladiator-like orchestrated music like Two Steps From Hell. And crank it

Desired feature: ability to lower volume during rest AND have announcer.

Could be better

Positives are clear -- with or without music it faithfully tells you when to start your work or rest, or have a half time. You may have sequential workouts set up to smoothly follow from one workout to another.

Cons -- unlike other timers, you cannot move workouts up or down from the list of set up worouts. Your workout #1 is always workout #1 and you cannot just skip it and start with Workout #2 or #5.

Another small issue is that it excludes speaking time from the timing -- you end up having longer rest than you set up... Not significantly, but it adds up.

Anyway, if I had a choice to select workokuts to run anywhere from the list, I would give 5 starts. Right now it is only 3.

A Fitness pro Must!!!!!

I am a fitness pro and this is by far one of my most used apps. It is very user friendly and does not crash! After using the app for about two months it can do just about anything I want it to! Some things that could improve the app is being able to save your custom workouts. One other is make ladder intervals and thunder and lighting intervals easer to build! But this is a must for any fitness pro that teaches timed interval based classes and gives another dimension to strength and conditioning as well! It's like my second coach!!!!!
