Minor bug fix
Seems like I should like it more
I did not really enjoy this game. It seems like I should, there is so much more here than there is in most apps. A real story, a unique, fully conceived world full of characters. Full and fluid character animations, collectibles, puzzles... a lot of work went into this thing.
But I didn't get attached to any of the characters. I always felt disoriented in the world, like I never knew where I was going. I found relatively few puzzles engaging - most were obvioius and the ones that weren't were hard for the wrong reasons (like that aha! tricked you! way that involves some immaterial technicality).
I'm a big fan of Puzzle Agent, Layton, Jim & Frank, etc. There are relatively few of those available for the iPad. I may end up playing the next episode out of desperation since this is another faithful clone. But among that line-up, this was the one I never enjoyed.
5 stars for this chapter 0- stars overall
Don't waste any money. The game has no true ending. Which after you play the game you will understand what I mean.
Each chapter is great. Each level offers different levels of puzzles and fun. The game is uniquely designed. A dark game with occasional moments of dark humor. Never overly dark, yet, if you are looking for a candy crush brightly colored "happy" game this is not for you. It is not sad or anything but it is definitely not that.
However, they stop after the second one leaving you to believe that another one is coming soon. Well it has been 2 years since I downloaded this game the first time and there is still no 3rd (minus prologue) chapter!
I promise if you enjoy playing the game you will HATE when you complete the 2nd chapter. It will leave you wanting more and will never fulfill that for you. They have not even updated anything since 2014! The most they have done is added compatible devices. We will see how that goes since I am re-downloading it to see how it looks on my iPad Pro.
Great game, but incredibly short.
I really enjoyed this game but like I said it's very short. The graphics are good, and so is the voice acting. The puzzles are challenging and fun but it is simply just too short. I figured when I purchased this I would have more than an hours-worth of a game to play, then to be told I gotta drop another 2 bucks on (from what the reviews claim) another hours worth of game play? I'm good, great game cute and the story isn't bad but if you don't wanna keep having to spend money on an hour at a time of gameplay I suggest maybe the professor layton series for 3DS / DS it's similar with puzzles but you get way more than an hour of game.
