Editors’ Notes

If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to play a song from your iTunes library, this could be your ticket to guitar godhood, bass beastliness, or piano perfection. Jamn Player analyzes any track in your iTunes library and breaks down the chord structure so you can learn to play along. It’s lightning-fast, polished, and easy to use, and the technology driving the process is almost magical. For those about to rock, we salute you.

Incredible!

First off, I never write reviews. But I've searched through many apps and even programmed a couple myself that would assist me, along with other musicians, in predicting the keys of songs. The fact that the developers of this app are so quickly able to implement their algorithms/methods into any accurately predicting any song in your library is amazing. You can even sort all of your songs by keys (the same way you sort by artists and albums), which makes it so easy for my band to cover songs and write cool transitions between them. I've spent so many hours playing along to all of the songs that I didn't feel like earing out myself, or could never quite figure out. It's like real Guitar Hero! The editing system to fix any mistakes in the chord prediction is very well laid out too, and it is very user friendly. Overall, this app just really makes the process of learning new songs so much easier. I've recommended this app to all of my musician friends because it is truly revolutionary.

Limited(permanently, I’m sure)

This only works for songs you PURCHASED from iTunes. I’ve been building my iTunes library for years. I have thousands of songs in my iTunes library that were ripped from the CDs I purchased. Even though those songs alhave been converted to the format needed to play on an iPod, they aren’t able to be processed by this app. Even older songs(pre-protected era) like everything from the nineties. The song has to have been purchased through iTunes, so to say that you can convert your entire iTunes library is an outright lie. You can, if you’ve only ever purchased your music there. Plus, there’s quite a few songs (seems like more all the time) that no sound plays. It’s just chords rolling by. They USED to play. I know for a fact, because it’s where I learned them. Songs I DID purchase from iTunes. Idk what changed on their part, but something did. Anyway, there’s a bunch of other apps that do the same thing, and pay Royalties to the artists instead of apple for free. Some have been around longer too. Shop around. Look at version histories. You’ll see.
