No support for older models

I have an older model Era I bought right before they came out with the new one that has an hour less battery life, so it's not that old. Wanted to reconfigure it, but I can't because none of their software supports it anymore. They also got rid of the features I used, so even if I could I probably still wouldn't. And to top it all off, they took their forums down. I used to be willing to pay more for these headsets, I've had several models, but if they think this is the way to treat loyal customers I think I'll be looking into other options in the future. Certainly doesn't make me want to buy a new Era. Same with the Up (suggested Mom buy fit bit instead) and Jambox. I don't expect them to continue to develop for them forever, but there was no reason to cut existing service off. Especially since it all seems to be web based, so even trying the older versions fails. Deleted the App from my phones, and the software off all of my computers, because at this point it's literally unusable.

Great product with a few drawbacks

This small device offers incredible sound, but there are a few things they could have improved that become apparent when you are trying to use this app for the first time.

My MiniJambox arrived today, and after pairing my iPod with it I installed the app. Upon starting it it recognized my iPod, and then I tapped on “customize”. The app froze, and it shut down the Jambox.

There was no error message; neither from the Jambox, nor from the app. I had to look around the website to find that maybe my Jambox did not have the current software - which is a bit weird for a product that was just shipped a few days ago.

After installing the update the app works as advertised and is quite useful, though not very necessary. Most adjustments you make once, and the rest can be navigated to on the Jambox itself.

So, 5 stars for the Jambox and its absolutely outstanding sound, and 3 1/2 stars for the app. The usability of everything flawlessly going together though is only 1 1/2 stars in my opinion.
If they manage to get the first experience going without the frustration and cumbersome detective work you have to do yourself, trying to find out why some advertised things don’t work, this product could all in all be a wonderful thing!

Jawbone...sinking fast for headsets

I bought the era, first generation, as it is in my opinion, one of the best units that they ever made. When I went to use the updater software, it wouldn't work. It wasn't until I went into a forum and found out that jawbone no longer supports any of their headsets, except their newest version. That means all the updates that they had previously created are no longer available. There is no connectivity between the phone and the headset via the app anymore. All you get is the 1.0 firmware, no ability to change or update the unit. What will happen to the current version support if they ever come out with a new version? A company that runs this type of business usually find itself out of business.
Found out they discontinued connection and support for new version too, except if you bought one in 2015. I guess that answers my concern.
