Jettison automatically ejects external disks from your Mac before your computer goes to sleep and remounts them when it wakes.
MacWorld •••• (4 stars!) : Jettison "makes packing up easier than ever—just close the lid, wait for the sound, and unplug."
Simplify those last few seconds when you grab your MacBook and run out the door. Just close the lid and Jettison will automatically eject your backup drive, iPod, or whatever is connected so you can safely unplug it. Say goodbye to "disk was not ejected properly" errors and waking your computer back up because you forgot to eject everything.
Jettison even makes sure that Time Machine backups and file server volumes are properly shut down before they're removed. Your backups and shared files are safe and sound.
And what if you decide not to leave, and open your MacBook back up? Jettison will check to see if your drives are still connected and will mount them back on the Desktop if they're there.
What's New in Version 1.2.4
Corrected issues with Mac OS 10.8. Please see our website for additional updates and SD card support.
To be wanted! ))
Just 2 points:
1. "Re-mounting" function
2. Settable hot-keys on mounting functionality.
p.s. Everything else - The Best! ))) Go for it and don't drop this project!
Only missing one feature.
I love this app, and it is definately worth getting. I hope that in future updates it will give the user the option to hide the remounting dialogue. When I fire back up my comp from being asleep. I don't want to see a meaningless popup. Use notification center if you must notify me of the successful remount of my drive. But don't interrupt me as I get back to work.
Doesn't Work Well With TimeMachine External Drives
I've set Jettison to not unmount external drives and yet it unmounts my TimeMachine drive every time I put my computer to sleep - bonking any TimeMachine backup that might be underway.
Seems like a great program but it would appear to needs better support for TimeMachine/Capsule drives.
