The JewishVienna app is an offline interactive application meant to guide visitors through landmarks points of Viennese Jewish history along a route that connects the two buildings of the Jewish Museum Vienna on Dorotheergasse and on Judenplatz. Points of interest are shown on both a list and a map view and explained with images and text, using geolocation to position them in relation to where a visitor is currently standing. The app works without an active internet connection, i.e. only GPS is required (no roaming charges).

Informative companion to Vienna's Jewish past
The app takes you on a city tour between the two locations of the Jewish Museum Vienna, with stops at buildings with a connection to the ancient Jewish heritage that was almost destroyed by the Holocaust. Usually the significance of the building is connected to a particular person or family, and their stories are told with text and images in a slideshow -- the list of people to highlight is well-chosen: interesting, with connections to each other, sometimes whimsical twists and turn in the narrative, they make for entertaining reading. The app uses GPS to show your location, and that can be a problem in some small or narrow streets surrounded by tall buildings.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
