It’s interesting

When you enter the game it does the “what’s your name” and goes through the tutorial. I like the tutorial because you can either go directly in to the game or go through a tutorial that you can make as long as you want by going further in depth. After all the tutorial stuff you enter into a sort of first mission to get you acquainted with the controls (tap an option). (SPOILER) (SPOILER) when you enter the first mission it seems like a very stressful call where they are hiding in a closet from an intruder. After about like a 5-10 minute story-ish thing where either they live or die (I killed them so I’m going off that experience) the operator informs you that it’s actually a fake test that’s based off an event that had happened 2 years prior(END OF SPOILER), then a 0.99 pay wall comes up saying do you want to buy episode 1 or not. From the intro mission sort of thing I believe the game would most likely be very fun but as of now I don’t see myself buying episode 1 from the short experience I had with the game. I understand people need to make money but if episode 1 was free or include more in the intro section and give more gameplay I would see myself buying the rest of the game. But even though there’s only a short experience to try, I would say download it and try it out for yourself.

Hey, so I remember “preordering” this game a couple weeks ago probably, because it looks absolutely amazing. Low and behold, it installs, and the play for approximately 3 minutes was incredible! But THEN, It makes you pay 99c for one more “episode”! Seriously?? You’re going to ruin an exquisite looking game for 99 cents? The gameplay was actually really fun, you feel like you’re actually going to be making a difference, and you even meet someone who you’ll be communicating with before each of your shifts for a little storyline. But then it completely gets ruined by a borderline INSTANT pay wall. And the worst part is, that if you decline, said paywall, all it does is takes you back to replay your little 3 minute call with a fake customer in trouble. Absolutely ridiculous. At least give the consumer a chance to actually enjoy the game for a period of time longer than 3 minutes before making them pay for a game which they installed for free! And the 99 cents is only for a single episode! Not even to unlock the full game!! This game is most likely, just a money grab. There’s no real way to tell what gameplay happens beyond, because the way that it’s set up, makes it seem as though one call = one episode. And I am NOT going to pay 99 cents anytime I want 3 minutes of entertainment. If I wanted to do that then I’d call the Dev’s mother up. Absurd. DONT BOTHER INSTALLING!!

Developer Response

Hi sorry for our confusing wording! The 99 cents is a one-time purchase and actually unlocks the entire game - access to all of the calls as well as the whole story line. We're hoping to release additional seasons later with more of the overarching storyline and we'd love to have feedback from players like you to help shape the future of the game - apologies for the confusing experience, we're sorry we let you down!

A fun surprise

I’m a little confused by the negative reviews. I’ve also been anticipating this release, but I wonder if the people disappointed in the game were hoping for a sim rather than an old school text adventure game? Because that’s what this is. If you liked the Lifeline games, enjoy visual novels or mysteries, this is probably something you would enjoy.

I’ve finished the first shift and I’m excited to go back and replay the calls and find out what I missed the first time through. The unlockable skills and the ability to restart calls without using up time skips is really nice, backtracking and re-reading text when you’re trying to find the correct resolution to a call can get tedious though (maybe an option to skip through text?) also appreciate the ability to scroll back through the text log.

I’m a little bummed this is episodic because I find episodic games hard to keep up with. Hope we don’t have to wait too long for the second shift, I’m hooked!

Developer Response

The option to skip forward through the text log is a great idea! We'll add it to our features list. Thanks so much for playing and keep the ideas and feedback coming, feel free to get a hold of us at
