Amazing app
Wow. Blown away. After struggling with stinking Shutterfly for 7 years I am so excited to have found this app. This was the most pleasant app to use in my entire phone collection. Super easy, doesn’t kill my battery, and I get to make my memories into print!! From my phone!!! Never thought I would get to do that. Everything was super easy to do. Excited to get the results in a week supposedly.
Only suggestion is when I’m wanting to search for a picture from my whole phone, that you make that drag bar on the right so I could grab it and drag it to the year and month I want, instead of scrolling forever. Even without that I am incredibly happy with this. You guys have a great team of designers and engineers and it shows. Thank you for this app!!!!!!
Easy to Use
Just made my first photo book, didn’t take long to be able to navigate changing layout, moving photos around or deleting maps if not required. I would like the ability to place text in a different place on each page, if you change the text to left, right, middle, it changes the whole book. I had some photos where I would have liked to place the text underneath the photo e.g. a town name as the photos are in a logical chronological order the placement was not always in my preferred location with that option. Also the paper in my book was wavy - not flat, not a big deal but a little disappointing. Overall love it!
No access to shared albums continues to be a deal-breaker
April, 2024: another update, ANOTHER year gone by, and STILL no way to access iCloud Shared Albums. Journi GmbH *really* needs to provide a way to use the standard iOS “photo picker” so we can access photos in shared albums!! (Please?!) When we get together for a group event, everybody puts their favorite photos into a shared album, and those albums are inaccessible with Journi! I know they have their own “shared photos” solution that they think is sufficient, BUT IT’S NOT. (People don’t want to deal with other apps and “special instructions”.) It’s enough of a challenge to get folks to add photos to an iCloud shared album (and that only takes a few taps!) Other apps on the App Store *do* allow access to shared albums, so it’s NOT a technical limitation. There have been lots of updates to the app in the years since I initially mentioned this but it continues to be ignored. 😢

Unfortunately we do not get access to shared albums, but you can use our family & friends-photosource instead. When you are in the photo selector, switch the source from "phone" to "friends & family", give them the visible link, where they can then upload their photos and make them available for you.
