Superb app. for all lovers of literature (and of Joyce and of Dublin).
This is a truly brilliant app. - well conceived and artfully designed. I used it and was blown away by it. You will be able to walk through the Dublin of today and experience the 1904 Dublin of James Joyce with this app.. There are so many things to admire about JoyceWays - Professor Nugent's own introduction and commentary, the short stories, the marvellous narration by Frank Delaney, the stunning David Norris reading on video, the Joyce's pubs review (invaluable), the period photo gallery, the compass directions and so much more. The whole app. is a tour-de-force. It really makes Ulysses accessible. No visitor to Dublin should be without it and at this price, it is a steal! Download it immediately - even if you are at home, you can still relieve that day in 1904. Congratulations Professor Nugent and your Boston College students!
Great concept, not updated
I'm visiting Dublin and was hoping for a Joyce app. This one sounds great with both content for Dubliners and Ulysses. Unfortunately it hasn't been updated since 2012, and the entire section on Dubliners is rendered useless on my 6+ iPhone. Further, it seems most buttons that have an arrow do not work. Please Joyce team, provide an update because this is a fabulous app that I would enjoy exploring long after my trip to Dublin. And to those looking for an app, avoid buying this one until they've provided an update. :(
Amazing, the best tour app out there!
I can't say enough about the quality of this app. It is the most complete of it's kind. The integration of quotes, photos, off line maps, on line location and, of course, the beautiful narration creates a fascinating look at the early 20th century world of Dublin.
