JSON toolbox is your all around JSON utility. It can generate code, validate json, tidy, minify and much more!
+ Automatically generate code, so that you don't have to waste time writing it by hand.
+ Validates your JSON on the fly and even shows you exactly where the errors are.
+ Prettify/Tidy your JSON code, making it easier to work with.
+ Minify your JSON code, to use as few bytes as possible.
What's New in Version 1.0.1
+ JSON Validation now occurs when a document is loaded. Previously if you loaded a JSON document that already contained errors, it would say success unless manually validated or modified.
+ Added ARC support to generated templates. ARC support works automatically and does not require any user specifications.
Useful but a little clunky
JSON Toolbox works best with files of JSON data, less so with pasting JSON from other apps. Minor things like a popup error message hiding the horizontal scrollbar and the lack of a toggle to softwrap the JSON since hitting "Minify" results in a one line high, very wide document which is pretty useless (I understand that minifying removed the newlines but the app should be smarter about presentation). Line numbers on the error messages would be a great addition as would a "New" button on the toolbar that cleared the current document which would save some steps (the toolbar doesn’t seem to be of the standard customizable variety).
But I’m being picky, for the money this is a solid app that does what it claims and I use it frequently.
Very helpful, slight improvements needed!
Rarely do I write app reviews but this app has saved me a lot of time and it cost nothing when I paid for it. This an awesome little app, it pops open really fast, let's me quickly throw in some JSON and cleans it up! Buy it now if you have anything to do with JSON.
A suggestion for the developer: Please include a feature to fix broken JSON or implement a more helpful issue finder.
Made my day!
Finding this gem made my day, if only I had found it sooner. My one request is to add tabs to the window, and possibly side by side comparisons. It would just make jugging multiple files a little cleaner than having a bunch of windows open.
