Why I use JustNotes
JustNotes is simple, does what I want, and does so efficiently and without distracting fuss or mess. It works ubiquitously, and has never let me down. Other apps are probably nearly as good but have a too much or too little—features, odd and supposedly intuitive interfaces, what have you: distractions.
More: Thoughts are fleeting and virtually all "word processors" are big, offer too much. A formatting failure, or even having the wealth of choice spells the end of that thought, as one gets tangled in all the other stuff and the thought fees. JustNotes boots fas, offers a simple but not scarily empty space, and offers for me the right amount of formatting. I can write things down and if I like what I want, can transfer the result elsewhere, should it be needed. Sure, I could use Apple's Notes or TextEdit or any number of Google products—there's no end of more or less good options. But JustNotes also syncs with SimpleNote, and that's important, as I use my mobiles as much as my desktop and when typing on a small screen want even more then simplicity of plaintext, white surface, and ubiquity.
Of course, it would be better were it open source and able to save in ODF/ODT. But I'm a strong advocate of OpenOffice (used to lead it) and of the OpenDocument Format, which TextEdit does in fact support. Still, I prefer and use JustNotes.
Many Note-Apps Available--But This Is The One I Use
I first discovered JustNotes a long time ago when I needed a quick and simple-to-use note taker. The GUI was intuitive and smooth. Later when I needed a way to sync notes between computers I found that I already had an app installed that would sync with SimpleNote. Now I use it to sync everything, computers, iPhone, and iPads. I've tried many note taking apps but I always come back to JustNotes. Now with the ability to share notes with others (thru SimpleNote) it does everything I need. My wife and I have some shared notes (such as shopping lists) that either of us can edit on the fly.
This is a fantastic tool but it still has the simple, easy to understand, user interface., I recommend that everyone give this one a try!
Does what it says, and does it really well
Does what it says on the proverbial box. Does it fast. Does it reliably. Doesn’t crash. Doesn’t bother me with ads. Clean, tasteful interface with judicious use of whitespace and dense but usable layout. The layout is so simple and so good. Doesn’t change the UI around for no good reason. Oh, if only all my daily-use apps worked this well. One of my favorites. Get it.
(Devs: Please never change the UI. It’s great just how it is.)
