Kana Flash is a flash card application to help learn Hiragana, Katakana and the Jouyou Kanji. The application contains all 2,136 Jouyou Kanji (1,006 from primary school and 939 from secondary school) including the 196 that were introduced in 2010. You can narrow your studies down to a particular grade level from primary school or tackle the entire set. Hiragana and Katakana are independent of Kanji so you can study those by themselves.
What's New in Version 1.2
- Reverse option added to the toolbar, to show the romaji first, then reveal the kanji.
- English translation added. Characters where an English translation isn't easily possible are left blank.
- Hot keys added to buttons
Very helpful learning aid when it works.
I love using this app to practice my hiragana and katakana. The only problem is that it constantly quits unexpectedly. This happens on both of my macs. I would give it 5 stars, otherwise.
Great for reviewing
I've owned this app for a while now. It's auto-advance feature is great.
