A must have if you care about what you eat in Rome
My girlfriend and I found Katie's app on our way to Rome and we wouldn't have enjoyed our trip as much as we did without it. From the finest gelato, to amazing tasting menus, to local Osteria's, we ate our way through Rome almost exclusively using this app. We found so many hidden gems along the way including what we felt was some of the best pizza in Rome!
Mostly we used the mapping feature that allowed us to find somewhere close by adjusting the distance of our search. But we also used the app to browse restaurants as well. It was such a great tool, a must have for sure! We used it both on the iPad when we were at home base and from our iPhones when we were walking around.
Poorly designed app, please fix b/c the content is decent enough
On my iPad the maps are small slices at the bottom of the screen - with about 25% of the screen wasted on blank space. In order to locate the part of the city where a restaurant is located, I go to a different map, then come back to Parla's App to see her map for the close-up. Wasted time and energy. Please make the maps large enough to actually use. Also, please show the name, address, and phone number of each establishment prior to discussing it. The conversational meanderings are nice, but please give the bottom line first. And show a date and prices for at least a few menu items. How about showing menus with a "date of" for info about prices. Thank you.
Helpful both planning and on the fly
Just returned from Italy and really appreciated having this app in Rome. It is visually very appealing and well designed, but also easy to use. Great value for the price. Especially helpful was the map you could use offline when you're wandering around lost in Rome. It uses your GPS and gets you where you're trying to go. Nice to pull up when you're starving and looking for last minute options nearby, too. There are internet links to other city mini-guides, but hoping for more full apps for future travels!!!
