I wish I could give a 5. The game is awesomely spooky. The story is good, the graphics are terrific, object use is creative but not too stupid. It is actually spooky enough that I do not recommend it for younger kids! However... There are some problems. The worst is the annoying qualities of the HOS. You have to be in a good mood to do them, because it is like they made the picture, and then added the objects, which is just fine- but without checking to see if there are also other objects answerable to that name. Don't tell me these three wine bottles aren't a bottle, but this wicker covered jug is. Next problem, there is a lot of trouble with the back arrows. There are places you simply go nuts trying to click to go back and keep opening the wrong stupid window. The last thing is a glitch- right near the end, I need a piece of stained glass which I had but it is no longer in my inventory. I can't finish the game. But I couldn't rate the game down just for that. It doesn't happen to everyone. Anyway I totally recommend it.
This game was well made. Challenging. The main scenes changed often so it kept me wanting to know what was next. Graphics were clear and detail was noticed. I liked the length of the game as well. I enjoy very long games so that I can play, put it down and look forward to returning to it later.
The only thing I can say negatively about this game, is the same as I say about many of the games such as this. That would be in the form of a question ~ Why do all of these really good games need to be so demonistic? There has got to be other ways to create exceptional story lines without including [supposedly] characteristics of satan and witches spells and just pure "evil"???
Geeze... I am sure there plenty of us out there that would enjoy the game just the same if you toned down the satanic/evil spirit inclinations a bit.
Overall, however, great fun game.
Storyline: Great, plausible twist on a historical organization.
Play Length: Good
HOS Objects Relevance: Great, all scenes and objects were relevant to the story and the period.
HOS Use: Great, is not over used and well done.
Painted Graphics: Very good, well done, good realism.
CG Graphics: Nicely done, but sometimes weak on the integration with painted scenes.
Cut Scenes: Good
Photographic Graphics: n/a
Voice Over Talent: Great
Voice Over Sync: Weak of English version.
Gender Focus: Great, you can be either and get the same experience.
Puzzle Use: Very good
Puzzle Difficulty: Very good
Navigation Elements: Good, the second tap required was aggravating and often miss aligned with the target.
Navigation Aids: None, but that is not a bad thing.
Over all a great experience.
