Great interactive mystery / thriller story
I am a fan of Cause of Death, which is an EA game similar in format. This game is more of an interactive novel with excellent artwork, music and sound effects. I was thoroughly entertained, I just wish it was longer! In fact, if you could make this a series, I would continue to purchase additional episodes to learn more about Cainsville. It also reminded me a little of the fictional town from the television series - Gilmore Girls - Stars Hollow. Even the main character looks like Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel. Oddly enough, the love interest and Writer character look like a mix of "Luke Danes" and "Jess Mariano". I'm onto you producers, but I'm loving it!!!
Fun and worth the price of admission
This is a fun little interactive murder mystery. I got through easy enough, solving the crime and with a personally pleasant outcome. Now, I’m going to have to go back and figure out how the main character ends up dead in other versions (I just acted sensibly and didn’t do anything too stupid). I have just discovered Inkle products, and I’m not a “gamer” in any sense of the word, but these are a blast. I heartily recommend them. Also, this is alluring enough that there’s a decent chance that I’ll read the author’s actual books.
This is really great.
I bought this one on a whim and I'm really impressed. Sometimes the answers seem like they are fed to you a little ("am I 100% for real absolutely certain I want to shoot this guy?") but I like that when you get a bad ending Jenn reflects on "stuff I probably should've done to prevent, y'know, dying ..."
Ahaha, I've died a lot so far. Sorry, Charlie.
The story is pretty entertaining and I do feel like I'll get mileage out of going through the different routes and responses. I wish there were more games like this, you know?
