So purchased this after getting my D5000. Most of it is just basic information nothign spectacular. If you think it will go over the various features and settings of the camera, it doesn't All of the preset options(sportts/actipon, night, etc.) the author doesnt like, so doesnt cover them just a simple "I don't use them, or I don't like them". Save your money, google D5000 settings, and wow, the same information form the same guy FOR FREE! Don't waste $5 like I did, sigh.....
Not free, but worth the money!
While you can get the user guides for free on his web site, this app is nice in that it's very portable...Normally I wouldn't pay for something I can get for free, but I've used several of Ken's user guides before he came up with idea of the iPod apps. They're WELL worth paying for considering the amount of information he packs into them. It's not as exhaustive as something by, say, Thom Hogan, but covers all the bases and VERY user-friendly for someone who jsut wants to get up and running while getting the most out of their camera. It's a great way to get a handy app and donate a little bit for his time in putting these together!
Great app BUT...
It is over priced and NEVER updated! I absolutely owe my deep passion for photography to Ken's website....so I went ahead and bought this app. In the beginning it seemed very useful but as time went on I found that I really didn't need this b/c I could just as easily go to his website and get even more info for free thru the web browser on the phone. In order for this to be worth the money it must be updated and he needs to add some new features. It has great potential but as is it feels like it is missing something. Sorry Ken. At least update it for the retina display! I thought you'd be one of the first to do so.
