Broken usage tracking and no support!


I have a smart water heater that has a usage tracker to track energy usage. The app shows random usage for months I didn't own it and when I drill down into the days it shows a text list of days and days of weeks for years back. In random sporadic order. But the worse part is even my current tracking is bluntly not working. It says the water heater is on 20 hours a day but my electric power meter shows only a few hours of use a day. I called Kenmore for support but that was another surprising disappointment. No one knew about the app. I was bounced between people trying to arrange a technician to come out and sell me parts for my water heater. There was no one there to just answer questions. After 5 different departments, I was told to call A.O. Smith, the company that built the water heater for kenmore, but they said that the smart app was Kenmores app and they had no party in creating it or supporting it, they just built the water heater to their specs. I'm frustrated and disappointed in my experience and the product.

Still broken as of February 2018. Now when I try to view usage, the water heater no longer shows up on my app after the app crashes. I just need to stop trying to look at my usage.

I've emailed support in June 2017, Dec 2017 and Feb 2018 and have never been emailed or contacted.

After struggling with setting up the app I reached out to app support via the app email link. I was figuring it would be a week or so before they got to my email...on the contrary. My email was sent on Wednesday @ 8:11 pm and I received a response back from app support 10 minutes later. Sr. Engineering Manager Nick and I exchanged emails and pics to show exactly what I encountered when trying to add my fridge to the app. He’s extremely happy to go the extra mile to get the bugs worked out. He’s easy to understand and communicate with. Nothing to technical for the average consumer to understand. Within 2 days my problems are resolved and my frustrations are gone. I feel that I’m getting my monies worth for a feature I paid for. Do I really need a “smart fridge “ probably not. I’m sure the application is going to develop further giving me even more value. I’m going to say that I’ve never been given such a high level of customer service and support like I’ve encountered with Nick’s app support.

This app has sucked since day one....


This app is TERRIBLE! I’ve bought the water softener from Kenmore SPECIFICALLY for the WiFi feature. I was able to set up an account fine but it wouldn’t show water usage history past a month. At least it could see my daily usage for a couple Welles...but kinda useless long term to see our usage over a year.

With this latest update it looks like I can see the long term usage but guess what!?! The FORMATTING makes me unable to see those numbers!!! Now the app is COMPLETELY useless to me! And I can’t click on a specific day and have it open up a detailed page for a specific day. Why does something that should be SO SIMPLE have to be complicated to get right? I paid 300$ more for this “smart” water softener when honestly there’s nothing “smart” about but a total waste of money.

Fix the app and maybe I’ll change my rating. If someone would like to reach out to me please do cause I want this app FIXED!! I have screenshots of my issue. Thanks!
