No more fumbling for your keys. Keep your phone in your pocket or purse and just touch the smart lock to open.

Check Kevo’s history to see lock/unlock events for all users and set up notifications for when they come home or leave.
The Kevo Touch-To-Open smart locks are available from retailers in the USA (Kwikset) and Canada (Weiser). For more information or to buy a Kevo smart lock, visit www.kwikset.com/kevo or www.weiserlock.com/kevo.
Note: Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
What's New in Version 2.0.17
Bug fixes and improvements to Touch-to-Open™ functionality.
Still faster to use my key most of the time
The whole concept behind the lock is to make it easier to get in the house without having to fumble for keys. I have two small kids and more often than not, I have to carry one or the other along with bags and such. When the Kevo works, it’s great...my four year old can be helpful and touch the lock and we’re in the house within 10 seconds. But, it DOESN’T WORK EVEN HALF THE TIME!!!!!
Here’s the typical routine when we approach our front door. Phone in pocket, tap the lock and 🙏 the blue ring turns green. It doesn’t. 😞Pull phone out of pocket, tap the lock again. Pray blue ring turns green. 🙏 It doesn’t. 😡Launch the app, tap the lock and pray the blue ring turns green. (App is searching for the lock.) It doesn’t. 🤬 Put stuff down. Get out keys. (App is still searching for the lock.🤬🤬) Insert key, turn and enter. (App is still searching for the lock.😑) Initiate troubleshooting sequence: kill the app. Restart the app. 🤯Restart phone, unlock phone, launch Kevo app...lock found. 🤦🏻♂️
Maybe it’s because I have a first gen lock, but it did work pretty well for a stretch. Either way, they wouldn’t get my money to want to upgrade to Gen 2 at this rate. It’s not worth the frustration.
Addendum: iOS 11 has been out for a few days, and it’s become sorely obvious that Kevo didn’t make much of an attempt to stay current. Since updating to the new iOS, I now have to take my phone out of my pocked and quit the app & restart it TWICE—EVERY TIME—before the Kevo will lock or unlock!!!! Please get on top of this new issue!!!
I was about to rip out my Kevo locks because of the VERY slow response time to lock and unlock recently, but finally after the Kevo app's most recent upgrade along with iOS's most recent upgrade, the wait time is back to where it was — pretty fast response.
Kevo: stop pretending that all is well in your generic responses to our inquiries and be upfront, explaining what the problems are, and we might be more understanding— You weren't the ones getting stuck in the rain impatiently waiting for your door to unlock. Reading other recent reviews, you lost a lot of credibility in how you handled this recent problem. I also far prefer your previous customer service model...
Lock wants to lock itself on its own before i tap it when i close the door. Almost locked me out a few times.
Also about 80%of the time i have to manually open the app to get it to work.
Edit 2 Aug 2017...
Still buggy. I installed the bew version today which improved tap to lock performance. While I was able to unlock the door for once with the phone in my pocket the lock then seconds later re-locked itself with zero contact.
So disappointed. I am convinced they are hardware problems at this point. I have already had the lock replaced with another unit and the problems persist.
Also wants to use location services 100% of the time so its a huge battery drain.
Still hasnt been fixed in years/over multiple versions. App wont stay running in background and wants to use GPS 100% of the time (as opposed to geofencing or when app is in use)m
Edit 20 Apr 17:
Despite new claims of improved reliability the app fails to run in the background and i cannot open the door unless I manually open the app.
Edit 18 Apr 17
Went away for the weekend. I show that the door was locked with the app. I happened to check on it while away and *surprise*. Its unlocked! The app history doesn't show any unlock happening (no one used a manual key which is the only other explanation) yet it somehow unlocked itself.
Still will not work 90% of the time unless i manually open the app.
