Key to Woody Plants of Wisconsin Forests

Open iTunes to buy and download apps.
This key provides an easy-to-use tool for identifying Wisconsin trees, shrubs and vines. The key includes 85 species of trees and 57 species of shrubs and vines that are native to Wisconsin or exotic and invasive.
The tool is structured like a typical dichotomous key, allowing the user to select among two choices until arriving at the correct species. Each species is illustrated with detailed photos, ecological information and distribution maps. Other features include a glossary with definitions of the small number of technical terms that are used in the key, and browsable lists by common or scientific name. The key does not include forbs and shrubs of prairies, bogs and other open habitats, nor herbaceous plants. A few difficult to identify groups (Crataegus, Ribes and Salix) are only keyed to genus. This is a native app meaning that it can be used even when you're not online!

Best tree and shrub key available for iOS!
Whether you're a student, a professional biologist, or simply a nature lover, you'll never again head out to the Wisconsin woods without this app. Hundreds of beautiful, high resolution photos show all aspects of each species. Maps generated by the University of Wisconsin-Madison Herbarium show you where in the state each species has been collected. And best of all, a dichotomous key asking you two simple questions at a time will seamlessly lead you to identify any tree or shrub native to Wisconsin. Also great for use in Minnesota and Michigan!
Good info and good quality photos
I live in MN so most of trees will be the same. This app covers so many kinds of trees native to the area and the pics of the leaves, twigs, bark and habitat really help with ID. I also like the price. I don't need to buy a pocket guide now to take along on my hikes.
Botanize without your pile of field guides.
if only I had not needed the wifi connection to download this app! I was stumped on a little red berry with opposite leaves in NE Iowa. Now identified back at home in MPLS. Would love to see a key for each state/region. Best plant app I've found for the Midwest.
