Problems with recording

I make frequent use of recording slideshows in sync with audio. However, with Version 7, you can LOAD the audio, but while recording, you cannot HEAR it. Apple has made no effort to fix this problem. The rest of iWork 2016 may be fine, but Keynote is (in this respect) quite broken. Moreover, if you’re using an older version, by advised you can’t use that older version if you install Keynote 7—all Keynote shows, regardless of whether you’ve opened them in Keynote 7, become Keynote 7 forever. You’ll have to Time Machine everything to repair the connections.

Very frustrating.

One more thing: someone on the discussion boards said something about there being some version 6.6.2 that, while it won’t be a “full-blown” Keynote 7 (with the useless “collaboration” features), it will open Keynote 7 files. However, Mac App Store doesn’t seem to let me uniquely select any particular compile of Keynote—just the newest one. Way to go, Apple. Just keep pushing people away. SOOO very disappointing.

I still long for version 9

I have been using Keynote for teaching and lecture presentations for years. For some unknown reason someone decided to redo the application from scratch and it has been a disaster. I have managed to keep the old version which is all I use, but now have a new laptop and cannot instal the older one. Aside from the factr that someone ruined all the intuitively easy ways of creating a presentation, a decision was made that one should only use one background per presentation. Why? That is one person’s aesthetic, but why impose it on others? I llike to use the blackboard for text, but for photos the best is a black background; sometimes one needs a white one. But in the new version, this is not possible, unless an improvement has been made that I am not aware of. This is simply crazy! Why was a good app ruined?

Good. Room For Improvement

I like Keynote because of the creative capabilities it does possesses but, lately I have been noticing that it has been quite buggy with lag times up to 30 seconds on occasion which makes it a pain, especially when I just want to open it up quickly and make a couple adjustments to my presentations and I’m sitting there waiting for the loading beach ball icon to disappear. So, for the time being, I guess I’ll go with Microsoft PowerPoint. Please fix this ASAP, Apple!
