Description
Keynotopia iPhone PDF prototype viewer app.
This app is meant to be used to display clickable PDF iPhone prototypes on the device. The pages of these PDFs do not necessarily follow each other sequentially in any sense, but instead employ clickable areas to take you to an arbitrary page of the document. Therefore you will not find many of the features you would expect in a generic PDF reader app, such as:
- paging by swipe gesture,
- zoom,
- or on screen controls, as these would obscure the "interface" of the prototype.
Instead this app offers the following features:
- iTunes File Share support for easy document management.
- Opening files from within other apps like Mail or Safari.
- PDF navigation by internal links.
- Shake motion and two finger swip gesture sensing to return to the file list screen.
Usage
You can use iTunes File Sharing to upload files onto the device. Connect your device to your computer, select it on the left bar of iTunes, select the Apps tab. Scroll down to File sharing and select the app from the list. Use the box on the right to upload to or delete files from this app. You may upload any kind of files, but the app will only list or display PDFs.
Using the app itself is very straightforward. After launching the app you will be taken to the list of PDFs currently in the app. Selecting one row will open the PDF in a separate screen. There you can navigate using the internal links defined inside the document. Swiping left with two fingers will pop up a dialog by which you can return to the file list screen. If you turn the device face down that will also take you back to the file list.
What's New in Version 1.2.0
- Better retina display support.
- Better support for different versions of PDFs.
- Various minor stability fixes.

Decent App
This app does what it needs to do, within certain limitations, and the price is right. It allows you to treat a clickable PDF as if it was an app prototype. If you make the prototype in Keynote, you need to export it to PDF, which means you'll lose a lot of the native Keynote features (transitions or builds, for example) in your presentation. Since Keynote on the iPhone won't allow you to display a presentation full-screen in portrait mode, this was an acceptable alternative for me.
Perfect for prototypes
This app does exactly what it says it will. Make your prototype in Keynote and display it in this app and it looks like you made your own app. Thanks for putting this out there, because other display programs for keynote don't handle iPhone prototypes well.
Please update for iPhone 5+
This is a good app for demoing wireframes, but it’s badly in need of an update. The iPhone 5 is over a year old, but the Keynotopia only supports the old 4:3 aspect ratio. Wireframes are generally created for apps looking to the future, so we can’t be stuck in the letterboxed past. Please fix this.
