Kids Crosswords from Learning Touch gives you 100 words, 10,000 puzzles, 10 levels of increasing difficulty and a million hours of educational fun for your kids!
With Kids Crosswords, your child can start with beginning speller challenges, then hone their spelling skills as they learn to be master crossword puzzle solvers!
This crossword puzzle game is specially designed to teach fundamental reading and pre-reading concepts to young children. In Kids Crosswords, your child will learn how letters correspond to sounds and how letter sounds form words. While they play, each letter tile announces its sound; when each word is completed, it is spelled out and then spoken.
Kids Crosswords is fun, educational, and engaging without being over-stimulating. It is designed with both parents and their kids in mind.
With Kids Crosswords:
* You can choose between phonics or letter names spelling
* You can get a different puzzle every time. Each puzzle is randomly selected from a library of 10,000 puzzles!
* You can learn new words with fun pictures and sound effects.
Not just fun and games, Learning Touch apps are powerful educational tools perfect for the car, the classroom, or the couch! Kids can play Kids Crosswords by themselves, but they love bringing their grownups along, sharing their puzzles, saying the names of the letters, and watching pictures animate and change from black and white to color!

Pretty good but...
This is a fun game that works well and is user friendly. However, I am a Speech-Language Pathologist and there are errors on the sounds modeled. For example, the 'a' is car does not sound like the 'a' in apple, yet that is how the app says it. Also, the short 'u' sound, sounds more like the short 'o' sound. There could be more sound errors but these are the ones I found using the app one time with a student. If these can be corrected, I would give it 5 stars. I suggest you hire an SLP to help make sure all sounds are correct. Thanks for designing a great app, just needs improvements.
Adding to previous comments, the voiceless consonants should be pronounced with only the mouth forming the sound, excluding the voice, e.g., /p/ should not be /pu/, the app is producing 2 sounds for the letter /p/ and also for /h/ where is says /hu/. I would like to note that the app gives correct pronunciation for the voiceless consonants /t, k, s/. Avoiding vowels that are followed by /r/ is recommended since the vowel does not say its typical sound when followed by /r/. Then the app won't be saying the short a sound for words like car which does not have a short a sound in it. This is confusing if you are not a native speaker.
I was looking for an app for my 3rd and 5th graders, this is not it! Lists advanced levels but only makes 3 to 5 word puzzles just changes directions of words. Total waste of $!
Great game/Learning game for my son who has autism!!! He loves it. I had to get full version for him. Keep updates coming and maybe new words would be nice too. Thanks!
