Asking children to reflect on their day is an important learning activity. Kid Journal easily allows children to focus on the content of their reflection with an easy-to-use interface. Children can record their feelings, location (i.e. home, school, on vacation), or the weather. Kid’s Journal entries have the option to post a photo and include room for text to add more details about the day.
While Kid’s Journal is great for families, it also is perfect for classroom use. The app allows for multiple students to be logged in simultaneously. Summer is the perfect time to begin a daily habit of sharing the important events in your children’s lives.
Kid’s Journal entries can be exported in their entirety or as a range of dates. The exported files can be read in iBooks and a number of other applications, like popular screencasting apps, on the iPad. Kid’s Journal and a child’s memories are a great combination for sharing learning experiences!
Teachers, parents, and kids will love this easy to use app.
Excellent journaling app for kids!
This app is a great way to engage children with writing on a daily basis. Kids will love the playful artwork and easy-to-use creative interface. Kid's Journal is a wonderful way for kids to do daily reflections using words, photos, settings, and mood icons. All (or select) journal entries can be exported to iBooks and many other apps, which makes sharing super easy. If you are a parent or teacher looking for a daily journal app to use with your children or students, I highly recommend this app!
This app provides young kids with the perfect combination of tools they need to document their lives. There is a spot each day to record where they are and what they doing. There is also a spot to place a picture from their camera roll. The app is intuitive and offers "just enough" for kids to stay organized without getting too distracted by too many options. It's a great addition to any lower elementary classroom or 4 to 10 year old's iPad.
I think this is a great start but need much work needed. I would love to see the black box gone, it becomes visually annoying, maybe a cool icon can replace it, new journal button? Also, a bit too basic, I get the 4plus rating but you should state that this is kinder through third grade, maybe 4th. I do wish somebody out there would make a cool Jr. High level, hip and fun but not too mature, cute icons, buttons and fun things to add. Problem is the older journals are too mature and the younger ones are too young. Maybe a few changes?
