Easy and beautiful
I've been charting for over 5 years now and just stumbled upon this app recently. I'm thrilled! So many times I would loose the paper charts. This app also makes me feel like I'm not alone. None of my friends use charts and so I felt like an enigma. Now there is a whole community of women who are tracking their cycles like me! I would be embarrassed to whip paper charts out of my purse in front of other people. Now it's integrated in my phone in an subtle, discreet, and private app! Have kids who love to use your phone? You can put a password on kindara so they can't see each time mom and dad have fun time. The app also is intuitive for those of us who have been doing this already for a long time. You can add more features to track yours personal observations or even tracking days you take vitamins, go for a walk, anything. Now; the only caveat is that this may not be the easiest app for people who have not yet been instructed on charting and what to look for. There are not a lot of instructions for beginners, it's still a powerful tool for women just starting out (but beginners should know that charting like this should be taught by an instructor or you should read a more detailed book about it for it to be most effective.) the chart will keep all the info for you, but you are still responsible to properly interpret the chart. And that's where proper instruction is necessary. Overall, this is a very very powerful tool and I'm so thrilled to use it.
Embrace your fertility!
I have been charting my fertility since I married my husband 7 years ago. For six of those years, I used paper charts, and eventually digressed to using little pocket calendars. The information was disorganized, and there were days I would completely forget to chart at all! This was not very helpful, as we had just had our third child and were not yet ready for another. I was starting to feel really insecure using NFP (or FAM, as they call it in this app) but as a Catholic woman, I trusted and believed in the method. My husband urged me to look for an app that might help me chart my cycles more effectively. I found and chose Kindara initially because it was free, but now that I have been charting with it for 11 months, I can say that I truly love this app and cannot imagine practicing NFP without it! Whether you are trying to achieve pregnancy, or avoid it, this app helps you reach those goals. It provides an easy to understand chart, using both the information from your daily cervical mucous observations, but also incorporates daily readings of basal body temperature. I feel so confident using Natural Family Planning now that I have Kindara. Even those who are new to charting their cycle will find helpful information for learning how to practice the method themselves, and embrace the wonderful gift of their fertility!
Helpful Resource, Responsive App Developers
I obviously knew the basics about menstruation, ovulation, and the like before I downloaded this app, but I didn’t realize how much I didn’t know! I am engaged and getting married in May, so I really wanted to get a better understanding of how I could best prevent pregnancy naturally and develop my habits before my fiancé and I go in to this blindly. Kindara offers organized and concise articles on just about everything I needed for a usable introduction to FAM. When I don’t remember what my BBT shift is telling me or what all the acronyms even mean, I can find out in their articles (and even click on the acronyms to see what they stand for). Though my fiancé doesn’t read the articles himself, I’m sure they are concise yet detailed enough for men to understand, too. [At least I can explain the information to him myself, so that’s better than it was before! Lol.]
I did have some suggestions that I sent to the developers through the app’s “request a feature” option. Lauren responded almost immediately and was so enthusiastic about my suggestions. Even if they don’t necessarily implement all of my ideas, I’ll still be happy to support the app because it’s already great like it is, and their staff is so amazing!
