Easily turn any Mac into a standalone Kiosk featuring a full-screen web browser.

In just a few simple clicks, you can set up your Mac to function as a web-based Kiosk. Whether you need to allow guests to register for your event or just want to set up a dedicated machine for public Internet surfing, Kiosk offers the functionality you need.

You can easily set the default home page for the browser, as well as specify whether or not the user can use the address bar to access other websites. Or, if you don't need the standard browser functionality, simply turn off the toolbar entirely and let the website have the full screen.

Users can be locked into the browser, and can't change, minimize or hide the window using standard key combinations. Need to restrict which websites visitors can access? No problem. Kiosk is designed to be flexible without sacrificing simplicity.

What's New

Version 2.0

* Custom Keyboard Shortcuts
- Now you can easily specify the keyboard shortcut used to exit the browser view.
- Optionally disable standard application shortcuts, such as Command + Q, while the browser is open.

* Enhanced Security & Content Controls
- You can now configure a password that must be entered before the browser can be closed.
- Sessions can be automatically cleared after a configurable delay, automatically resetting the browser when left idle.

* Local File Support
- If you need to load content from locally hosted files, it's now as simple as a single checkbox.
- When using a local file for the home page, Kiosk can monitor for changes and reload the page automatically.

* Immersive & Powerful UI Controls
- A new browsing mode called Single Page Browser limits browsing to the configured home page and any links it contains.
- Single Page Browsing can be further configured to hide all other browser controls and UI elements, allowing a truly immersive full screen experience for using custom web applications with Kiosk.
- Additional options include the ability to disable the "rubber band" scrolling effect when scrolling to the top or bottom of the page, and preventing the screensaver from loading while the browser is active.

* Presentation Mode
- Designed for use where user interaction is not needed, Presentation Mode allows you to disable browser interface elements, such as the mouse cursor, toolbars & tabs.
- Perfect for use in informational kiosks or marketing displays.
- Optionally cycle through open tabs at a set interval.
- Automatically refresh open pages to ensure displayed content is current.

* Automatically Launch Multiple Pages at Startup
- You can provide a list of URLs to load, and each will be launched in a new tab when the browser is opened.
- When used with the tab cycling option & presentation mode, this allows Kiosk to automatically load and display informative content or marketing materials without any further interaction or setup needed.

* Display Detection
- Kiosk automatically detects the characteristics of any monitors connected to your Mac.
- You can configure the browser to start on the main display, a specific display, or automatically enable mirroring across all displays while the browser is active.
- When configuring the security preference to prevent the user from changing applications, Kiosk will automatically capture exclusive use of all displays and black out other screens to prevent other applications from being used.

Ratings and Reviews

Doesn't work as advertised

You can't make a web page full screen. I turned off all the bars, and and there is a 10 or so pixel gray bar at the top and a 80 or so pixel gray bar at the bottom. This makes every full screen web page look terrible. Not sure if it's a bug but it makes this app totally useless for me.

This app had literally ONE thing to do for $5 and it fails to do it.

So many features missing.

The app says it can be used for a public kiosk. That's completely false. Users can quite out using standard keyboard shortcuts.

The app needs much more privacy and control settings. I want to disable downloads and exit for starters.

Basically all the app does is launch a brower in full screen method. The idea is good, but it's competely useless at this point.

The developer ask for suggestions, but the contact link on the page doesn't even work! Short sighted.

Needs to support local disk pages for a 5 star Part2

How's it coming along adding the ability to have a webpage that's stored on a local drive? The macs I want to use this on are STILL NOT internet connected. Lose 1 more star.
