Let’s face it: regular alarms don’t work very well. You just hit the snooze button as many times as you could, then rush for the rest of your morning trying not to be late. What you really need is a coach that will help you build a strong morning routine, and that’s exactly what Kiwake is designed for.

Kiwake will drive you out of bed whether you want it or not! Like any good coach, it will give you a hard time if you don’t follow the rules, but also respect you when you actually do. The more you stick to your routine, the less annoying it becomes.

Kiwake’s mission is to walk you through a brief but complete wake-up process to make sure that you are fully awake.

This process can be divided into three main categories you need to wake up every morning:

1. Your Body, by standing up and leaving your bed.

2. Your Brain, by stimulating it and keeping it away from excuses you could find to go back to sleep.

3. Your Motivation, by reading your goals to start your day inspired.

Kiwake will request a proof that you went through each of those categories:

■ Body wake-up: take a picture of an object far from your bed to prove you left it. This is an object that you already saved when you have set the alarm. You could take advantage of this by getting close to the shower or immediately starting your coffee maker.

■ Brain wake-up: complete a quick mini-game that requires your full attention. By focusing on the game, your brain will not be able to manipulate you with those famous excuses to go back to bed. You know, the ones like “Meh… a shower will only take me one minute” or “I can prepare and pack my lunch in 30 sec”.

■ Motivation wake-up: read and check all your main goals, because there is no better way to jumpstart your day than giving yourself a motivation boost!

◦ No snooze button : don't try to find one, there are none and it's better for you.

◦ Cooldown timer : not snoozing doesn't mean you have to instantly jump out of bed. Take some time to stretch first (3 min max)

We thought nothing could break our lifelong habit of punching the snooze button. Kiwake forces us out of bed with physical tasks, and its brain-testing puzzles perk us up before we've even had breakfast. We can already feel ourselves becoming different people: morning people! We never thought we'd see the day(light).

Ugh i hate you but I love you


I never write apps but I felt the need to give kiwake 5 stars. Since I started working full time I've become a snooze button addict. I'm a girl who actually needs a lot of time in the morning for hair and makeup but I would never allow myself enough time because I'd snooze for over an hour.. Then comes kiwake.. It really does wake you up and they're is absolute no way to deactivate it other than doing what it wants from you. I find my preferred method is a one minute cool down (it goes by so quick..) followed by the body wake up the the kind game (tmi warning- usually done on the toilet while I pee 😅). I don't really use the motivation feature unless I need to remind myself of something in the morning. For example, I might put "important meeting with xyz, straighten your hair" and this will really get me up quick. The body wake up works very well and I've only had it reject my image once. I took a picture of my turned on light switch in my bathroom. The only issue I can think of with this app is that you need to put it in "night mode" before falling asleep or else it won't work. The app does a good job of reminding you to do this but I still worry I'll forget one day. When I first started using this app I would also set my normal alarm a few minutes later because I didn't completely trust it, but no I just use kiwake since I've had no issues. Overall well worth the price! I've been recommending it to all my snooze addict friends.

A much better wake up process!!


In the morning I would snooze and snooze my alarm or just completely shut it off to make the noise stop and then be late to where I needed to go! Kiwake is great because it really doesn't let you snooze and it makes sure you're awake before you can turn the alarm off so going back to bed after the alarm shuts off is a lot less likely than when you press snooze on a standard alarm. It has you play a short game to wake you up and has you take a picture of something in your house that you have to get up and go take another picture of before the alarm will completely shut off. (It doesn't ring constantly though, it will stop to give you enough time to play the game or find the object but will start ringing again if there is no activity -aka you're sleeping.) My favorite object to take a picture of is my coffee pot! As with other alarm apps I have tried, usually if they're being annoying and I don't want to wake up I can just kill the app but Kiwake doesn't let you do this very easily, it will make the worst noises if you try to do this. All in all my wake up routine has become much less of a struggle now that I use Kiwake as my alarm.

Update: there was a glitch with this app a few months ago but it seems to be working great again!! Yay for fixing glitches and waking up on time again.
