Closest game to tabletop RPG

I’ve been searching for something that would satisfy my desire to play the old school tabletop RPGs while the party was too busy to meet up. This game has definitely done that, and is the closest mobile game I’ve found to actually playing D&D. I’ve not once had to spend any actual money in the game, and I have collected well over $100,000 gold. It’s definitely possible to play and earn all the DLCs without money. All in all, if you’re a fan of paper and pen games, but can’t always wait around for the next time people can get together, this is a great substitute.

Freemium is an insult

When it was paid, this was the best RPG ever to grace the App Store. I’m not exaggerating. Now that it’s free: balance is shot, every screen has an option to buy something, inescapable pop-ups infect every quest - all with the singular purpose of separating you from your money.

Dear Paradox Interactive, if you wanna put a freemium game out there, fine, build it from the ground up like everyone else. Taking a near-perfect game and corrupting it with sell sell sell is, well, evil - and you know it. I have no other moral choice but to boycott anything you touch in future. Thanks for the heartache.

By the way, the Steam PC version is still the real deal. You wanna play this the way it was meant to be played, go there and buy it.

This version is awful

I loved the first game and bought the this one when it was still a paid app. I was amazing fun, and I recently redownloaded it and found it had been replaced with this free to play piece of trash. The balance of the game has been completely distorted to force you to grind endlessly for gold. Everything is incredibly expensive, and gold drops in pathetic amounts. All this to get you to shell out your own money. I am incredibly disappointed in the developer and incredibly saddened to see what was once an amazing game, ruined by some pathetic attempt to get users to shell out more and more money. Paradox should be absolutely ashamed of themselves for ruining what was once one of the best games in the App Store!
