Customer Reviews

This app has a clean and nice UI, and easy to use tags and budgeting. It lacks many features in more established apps like iBank (including assets, investments, ..), but the worst thing for me is that although it is not new (version 2.5.6) it has issues with syncing:
1. I create a Koku document first on one of my Macs, then activated iCloud syncing, then created a new one on my iPad and activated iCloud and chose to use the existing data on iCloud (put there from the Mac), then did the same with my iPhone, then the same with my other Mac. When I start the app and look at the preference, for some reason there are separate database for all my devices and macs with separated dates of last change. This is very frustrating! one is usually checked as the one currently active, but on the iDevices the name of the database/Koku file is truncated (you do not see the last part of it) so you have no idea that belongs to which device. Does not this defeat the purpose of using iCloud? Was it not supposed to be one file/database on icloud shared and updated by ALL devices running Koku? This is so strange.
2. The budget has a nice graphical representation of time and spending amount as a percent of the budget, however while I can see that graph on some devices, it does not update on the others.

Good app, needs recurring transactions

I've really liked this app. The icloud sync is really great and fast. The one major oversight for me is recurring transactions. That really saves time for the charges that come month after month. (I just referred the app again today and the first question was "Does it have recurring transactions?")

I also like the old icon with the rice a bit more. Just changed with the 2.5 update. too many wallet icons.

This app used to be acceptable, but now it’s really bad on Maverick. It keeps losing focus forcing you to re-enter a transaction. And it’s really slow as your data grows. I know Mac finance programs are generally garbage and this is no exception. As soon as I can arrange the time to move my data it’s bye-bye. Even the old MS Money is better!
