KyPass - Keepass always in sync
By Miguel Vanhove
Open iTunes to buy and download apps.
KyPass 3 is an application for people with extremely high demands on secure personal data management.
It uses the same database format than the open source software KeePass Password Safe.
Your database could be backed up:
- with iCloud Drive,
- with Dropbox, the best back-up service in the world (free accounts come with 2gb of space, enough for your KeePass databases) ,
- with google drive,
- or with any webdav compliant cloud service.
KyPass 3 saves many different information (user names, passwords, urls, comments, ...) in one single database. The entries are sorted in groups. The integrated search function allows to search in the complete database.
- iCloud Drive, Dropbox & Google Drive support (two-way synchronization).
- Auto-fill username/password in internal browser !
- Universal application.
- Icon are displayed in view.
- All orientations support.
- Read/Write mode for .kdb and .kdbx file (also v4)
- Password generator
- Webdav local server.
- Download database from URL
- Password generator
- External keyboard support
- Pin Code
- More feature are available on our website at http://www.kyuran.be
Dropbox users: by default, the databases have to be in the '/Crypted' folder of your Dropbox. This folder could be change in the settings.
What's New in Version 3.8.2
(bug fixes) Google drive upload works again
great with 2 awful stupid annoyances
two things really hate about this app: (1) have to delete the .kdb file in the app before can transfer an updated .kdb file from my macbook to the iphone via itunes; and (2) cannot download the .kdb file from the app on the iphone to my macbook via itunes. used to be able to do these transfers a long time ago via itunes using now ancient EARLIER versions of this app. but nowadays have to deal with this crazy stupid annoyance where can never transfer a new/changed .kdb file via itunes without first deleting an existing .kdb file in the app. and same stupid annoyance if try to do a transfer via a wifi connection. it's like it serms the file is transferring, but the previous .kdb file in the app is still there in the app on the iphone but only the file date may have changed - the .kdb file on the iphone apparently does not get overwritten. so have to delete and then transfer. have no idea if this is not a problem with if you use dropbox, but those cloud options are potentially unsecure imho. no way want to put my password .kdb file in the cloud. would rather do safer itunes transfers with my macbook computer despite the stupid annoyances that you have with this app. otherwise a great password manager app, but with this awful huge annoyance.
GDrive sync doesn't always work.
Pushing changes up to GDrive seem to work well. However, it takes some effort to get remote changes. I usually have toggle "Reset synchronization" to update my database, even that doesn't always work.
Best KeePass implementation on iOS
This is the most feature filled KeePass implementation on iOS and has served me well for a few years.
That said, every new release brings some minor annoyances. I do wish it was a bit more polished.
