The building app of my dreams

sammy nyc

I walk this city to death and am constantly coming up with questions about the buildings around me, big and small. I wonder, “what’s their story?” But no time to start going down the google rabbit hole. Well, now I know - just like Shazam and music, Labyl gives me that instant gratification of learning about these structures. I love it; it’s awesome! The app is super easy to use, incredibly informative without being pedantic, and most of all, FUN! Now I am just waiting for them to expand it to the Upper West Side and Harlem. Hurry up, Labyl! I need my fix!

Great app for architects and architecture enthusiasts!

This app uses photos and location tracking to share historical facts and info about buildings in Nyc. It’s pretty useful to discover how old buildings are as well as info about the architects and developers especially while you’re on the go!
I do wish the scrollable text area would be bigger so it’s not just all scrunched at the bottom. All around, cool idea.

Traveler (and lover of architecture)!

Randomly came across this!! As a recent transplant to the city (with an appreciation for architecture and travel) I’m constantly looking for a tour guide or a city native to feed me with information about the coolest structures near me in this mighty city. This is going to be my digital tour guide 🙃
