Terrible searching

I am sorry I bought this app. I was looking for ideas to plant two woodland gardens, and the screenshot made it seem likely this would help. It did not.
You cannot search by plant uses, even though that is a term displayed in each plant's listing.
So I went to a nursery web site in my area (well 300 miles away but in my zone) and got some plant info. Then I tried to look them up on this app. It was very difficult. I put in the Latin name of a plant and got hundreds of hits in alphabetical order. I tried the common name- same thing. For example- Acer Japonica should give a specific result: Japanese Maple. Instead every kind of Maple and every kind of plant with "Japonica" in its scientific name showed up.
Despite all these headaches when I did find what I was looking for, I added the plants to the Favorites List. Was it printable or exportable to take with me to the nursery? No again! I used Mac Grab to take a screen shot of the plants I was interested in and took it with me.
My money would have been better spent on bags of mulch.

Very limited and not a good use of money

I have just purchased this app thinking I would search plants based on variables that were mentioned in the description; height, zone, color, water, shade, etc… After searching within the parameters for my area, plants of various colors, heights, blooming, etc come up in every search. I cleared the search and would put in totally different parameters and many of the same plants show up again: i.e., height 5ft+ selected and plants that are 1 ft and less come up, purple color selection gets white and red. Pictures of one plant shows up in more than one species so accuracy is questionable. Many, and I mean many, of the plants have no pictures, so I guess I am at the mercy of other uses to add the correct picture with the plant. I have been searching the data base for over an hour to begin plans for a new garden space, and sadly, I am thinking I need to look for a different app. This truly may have been a waste of time and money. Sad

Wait. Wait

I was hoping to use this program to create a profile of my own yard and garden, adding photos of my own trees and strubs. I thought this would help me keep track of fertilizer needs and water needs. From what I read, I thought I would be able to add plants and trees on my property, but I don't seem to be able to do that. The Search feature is very limited. One has to already know the exact name of the plant or tree. I can search for "Maple" for instance, but need the exact type of Maple. "Red Maple" or "Summit Maple." I want to look at all Maples. I can scroll but there are too many plants to really do that easily. All in all, I don't know if these are bugs or limitations.
