Spin and Speak: Social Skills app is an entertaining board game designed to help teach the pragmatics of language. The app focuses on the following areas: instrumental (requesting things, asking for help), regulatory (directing others), interactional (exchanging information), personal (maintaining contact, interests), heuristic (discovery, making choices), imaginative (creative imagery) and informative (statements of fact, storytelling). You can set up each student and track their performance using our data tracking. You can email the data at any time during or after the game. Before each game, you can choose one or all of these areas for each student.
As the student plays the game, flashcards will pop up asking questions or giving scenarios for them to address. Data can be collected as the game progresses and a report can be generated to show progress. This game is a great tool for all children needing help with simple conversations and can especially be used with students using augmentative communication devices.

Could Be So Much More
This is a very simple app which provides practice in the use of appropriate social/pragmatic skills. On first review I gave it 5 stars... As an SLP, this could have been so useful to use in my social skills groups! I could use it for language skills...wh questions, conversational interactions, grammar, etc. It also has the potential to be a wonderful tool to use when practicing articulation carry-over skills. On my initial preview, it appeared really nice and I loved the questions; however, I did not play it with a group of students...this was a mistake, as further investigation and use has revealed that there are limited stimulus items and grammatical errors, with too much repetition of stimulus questions. It would be also be more fun for children to have fewer "go back" spaces to land on....this should be a fun game for learning. This app has a lot of potential. With a nice update for content and usability, this app could be a winner.
I am not happy
My child likes Milo that is the reason I bought this app, thinking that she would get some guidance about social skills and by modeling the speech she can learn thing to say to others. This app just asks questions but does not model how to respond to those questions. I am very disappointed …….
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
