Good, with room to improve
Comedy albums in an iTunes library seem out of place. I've got many albums in mine, but if I just want to listen to my music, the shuffle feature will still play my comedy tracks. Although there's a "skip on shuffle" option in iTunes, my iPhone ignores that setting when I shuffle.
Because of this, a standalone comedy app makes a lot of sense, so I feel Laughly is a strong complement to Music. It's pretty slow and does crash on occasion, so it would be nice to see the app overhauled from a programming standpoint. The visual appearance is slightly more than barebones, but I wouldn't mind paying a nominal fee (say, 99¢) for a new version of the app, even with unobtrusive ads.
Perhaps the biggest addition to Laughly which I'd like to see is the ability to import tracks and albums from iTunes for local play (without ads, since streaming wouldn't be used). Not only does this encourage the purchasing of albums to support comedians, it also lets people listen to the lesser-known comedians they enjoy.
I am sending a copy of this review to the developer(s) through the feedback section of the app.
Awesome app!
This is a great comedy app. Connects me with comedians I already enjoy and also connects me with some I've never watched or heard of.
The only thing I don't like in the free version is that ads sometimes play in the middle of a clip and it ruins the moment. If they could just play at the end of a clip it would be better.
Favorite app for stand up comedy
I love Laughly. There is no boring comuting anymore thanks to tons of funniest comedies. Sometimes I couldn't stop but laugh so much that people start looking at me. Thanks Laughly for making my morning commutes fun :)
