Ratings and Reviews

Great little handy application. Back in the days of IBM. My favorite program was a program manager. Sense windows 3.1, it's been hard to find a replacement. I stayed with windows pc's till vista. The UAC got me so mad that i threw my pc out the window.. that was the last i had ever used microsoft windows. I been an apple user ever sense. Don't know bout it being what all they say. It's nice to to have to go searching for my applications. this makes for a perfect program manager. Thanks guys.

Lost all my preferences..

..yet again. This is the fourth time that LaunchMagic has lost all my customized docks and I have no idea why it happened. The docks take some time to set up, so it's a pain to keep having them disappear. This would be a good program if they could fix this problem. I want to like it, but you can't depend on it.

Good Start but Needs Refinement

Launch Magic is on a par with Alfred, Launch Pad, etc.- to stand out above the rest it needs some user interface work. I'll give it a try, but my first impression is that it's not robust enough to become part of my standard work flow.

• Make the main screen configurable so that docks can show in rows rather than tabs.
• Make Blaser accept mouse key 3, 4 or 5 as a trigger
• Add a mass exclude ability
• Give Blaster a data entry option

Details: Ninty percent of the screen is devoted to showing ALL your applications, which is a waste. The docks, where you organize your apps are the key, and they are nested as tabs. The app blaster is a great idea, but if you assign it to a mouse key, where it would be really useful, it doesn't work properly. I have literally 75 little World of Warcraft update apps … there seems to be no way to select them all and exclude them all at once. Blaster has a 'cancel' button, but it also needs one for data entry … if I don't find my app, I need to type its name.
