About the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco
The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, comprising the de Young in Golden Gate Park and the Legion of Honor in Lincoln Park, are the largest public arts institution in San Francisco.
The Legion of Honor was inspired by the French pavilion at San Francisco’s Panama-Pacific International Exposition of 1915 and, like that structure, was modeled after the neoclassical Palais de la Légion d’Honneur, in Paris. The museum, designed by George Applegarth, opened in 1924 on a bluff in Lincoln Park overlooking the Golden Gate. Its holdings span four thousand years and include European painting, sculpture, and decorative arts; ancient art from the Mediterranean basin; and the largest collection of works on paper in the American West.

Terribly designed app
I installed the app and bought the Bonnard in-app. After paying for it, it dropped me onto a page that was not for the Bonnard exhibit, and one I could not escape. After many attempts, I finally had to uninstall the app and then re-install it. Turns out that you have to zoom out to exit a page, and it doesn't always work. No help, nothing. Totally incompetent. And the Bonnard in-app I paid for was not available. Stay away until they fix this.
I'm impressed to see quick improvements to this app. As a member who visits the museum often, it's very nice to have access to increasing amounts of information about the collection. Hope to see more works added over time.
I've been going to this museum since I was a kid so it was great to be able to learn new things about the art. I'll definitely bring friends to the museum to use this!
