The sounds do not match the correct letters.... example that G has the D sound
Thanks for your feedback! We haven't heard this concern from others, and the sounds are correct. Perhaps the sounds are similar on your speakers and are difficult to distinguish? You might try the app on a different device to see if the sounds are clearer. Please feel free to contact us at email@example.com for more assistance.
Some sounds incorrect
There are two sounds that need to be corrected. The r sounds like /er/ instead of /r/ and the l sounds like /ul/. Please fix this so the app is useful and not teaching the kids the wrong sounds. This applies to the other app as well.
We appreciate your feedback! The The /r/ and /l/ sounds are especially difficult to capture on audio without a vowel sound before or after them. (The /er/ and /ul/ sounds are heard when these letters are at the ends of words, as in tire and file.) We recorded these sounds at least 100 times – no exaggeration! The professional voice talent very patiently tried different tones and lengths of the sound. When the sound was chopped off sooner, it was unintelligible. These are sounds that are more easily taught “live” in person. We recommend that parents use the sounds app as a tool to learn the sounds, and then work with their children to ensure that the child is saying the sounds correctly. If the child is using the app, you may want to demonstrate the /r/ and /l/ sound in person, and talk about how it changes slightly depending on whether it’s at the beginning or ending of a word.
