Description

The journey of Lewis & Clark was one of the greatest adventures in American history. Follow the four-year journey of these two explorers and their team as they traveled from St. Louis to the Pacific Coast and back. President Thomas Jefferson commissioned Lewis & Clark to explore the Louisiana Purchase—new land west of the Mississippi that the United States had bought from France in 1803. With the vital help of their Indian guide Sacajawea, the Corps of Discovery gathered scientific data about the land, climate, plants, and animals along the way. They also established relations with at least two dozen Indian tribes during their journey. Use the interactive map to follow the journey of Lewis & Clark and read entries from their journals. View their extensive list of supplies, including medical equipment and gifts for Native Americans. And, read the biographic portraits of some of the key members of the Corps.

What a Great App!

This is easily the best 3 bucks I've ever spent on an iPad app. The best part about the medium is the stunning visuals the iPad can reproduce—this app's creators certainly had that in mind with their rich image choices and snappy design.

I love the app's simplicity, too. It's easy to get around and the layout makes sense. I also love how the writing is so clear—it's definitely crafted with young readers in mind, but is instructional for adults too.

It's a little tough to get used to the timeline's sensitivity at first, though. When you pick up your finger it sometimes slides forward or backward a few entries.

Educational and interesting

Wow, this beats Angry Birds as a way to entertain my kids (and me, too). Short, but full of visuals and interesting facts. This is a great way to use the iPad to educate that isn't tied to a website with ads or junk just a click away. Love it!

When can I expect the Brooklyn Bridge, Hoover Dam, Golden Spike, and other great little history gems? Keep it up!

Maybe make the font a little larger so it is easier to read.
